Third Place
Fuquay-Varina, NC - Softball Tournament 10U finished third place, the team received a plaque. The girls played 6 games 4 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. The first games started at noon (Sunday) with their game starting at 1:20PM. (Click on pictures to enlarge, click return button to return to post). All games are "timed" an hour & fifteen minutes, the "home team" only gets a turn at bat after that time if they are losing. They were taking water breaks, when needed Saturday & Sunday. Sometimes the field was cleared of players when they were getting water.

Softball Tournament weekend, hot and moderate humidity. First games today 8:00AM with our first game at 9:115AM. The fathers were here early for setup, & field preparation. We have a nice location with trees shade and canopy awnings setup together providing a nice environment in the heat. The little boy posse was gathering bugs in the picture.

This Tournament weekend is "local home" Tournament The Fuquay-Varina Bombs are the host's. In addition to softball, they are part of the property management team. Concession stand operation, collecting entry money and garbage patrol and field work. There are three fields at this location with other age groups 12U 14U (u = under) participating also.

Tracy, Cindy & Paco also were there for the afternoon.

Yesterday was a slow day hiding from the heat, 98 degrees again. Dry or wet, it was just plain hot, taking away your breath. This weekend it is a softball weekend here in Fuquay-Varina, NC starting with two games in the morning tomorrow. We went to Sanford, NC for a late lunch & to give Sally a drink, gasoline $2.529 there, cheaper than Holly Spring or Apex. Picture taken last month, Zane seated front row second one in from the right #136. Ariana standing in front row on the right first girl.

Sally gets new shoes

Silver Sally 2006 Chevrolet HHR

Our car, "Silver Sally" yes we have named a few things in our daily life. We find it fun talking like it is a pet. So anyway Sunday after a rainy Saturday, thunder storm & lost power for a couple of hours, we are going to softball practice, the right rear tire was low on air, I had to put some in. This got me to thinking maybe it's time to get some tires. The fronts we replaced last year when we were here in North Carolina after I cut the side wall of the right front (27,844 + 8,879 towed = 36,723 miles). of the three  remaining tires I had them put the best two on the rear. Today is the day to replace the rear tires (43,440 + 18,099 towed = 61,539 miles) time to "retire". I had them put the new tires on the front & move the fronts to the rear.

We had a pizza dinner with Cindy & "Paco" on Monday evening.

July

July... This catching up with what we have done is taxing my memory some. We have slowed down on some of the running here and running there taking more time to rest with Buster. We did do a "beach trip" with John Chris Ariana & Zane.

Tuesday the children had a swim meet very hot long evening. Wednesday the 7TH we drove with Sally and John drove the family in the pickup (4 wheel drive) at the beach Sally got parked in a paved lot and we all loaded into the pickup to take everything out to the waters edge, a lot easier. While there we visited Fort Fisher civil war museum. Thursday evening we took in a minor league baseball game coming back Friday. (That's Ariana gogles & pink cap)

For some reason I cannot explain the camera was there resting, no pictures and the computers stayed with Buster.

Cindy was kind enough to visit with Merry (Miss Kitty) at Buster both evenings while we were at the beach.

Mexican Train

We have gone to Cindy's bringing and making dinner for her so it's ready when she gets home from work. (On her birthday also.) We did play some "train", (domino's game "Mexican Train") at Christine & John's home. We also play train at Cindy's.

Cindy

Cindy our (third) daughter has her birthday this month, we were told by Christine she is planning a surprise dinner at P F Chang restaurant on the 26TH for Cindy we called Christine that day to find out what time to meet at the restaurant. Christine said we will meet at here house 5:15 PM, and drive there together. Would you know we arrived early and screwed up everything. I told bonnie 5 and we should be there on time. We arrived about 4:30 PM, and the surprise was on us, as we drove into there street I saw my older sister Irene run across the driveway into the house and Christine came to the car to talk to us and Cindy's car was there. That did not make sense to me as Cindy lives closer to the restaurant than Christine and it nice of Irene to come to Cindy's dinner. Well the dinner was for George & Bonnie 45TH Anniversary which was in May. (Click on pictures to enlarge, click return button to return to post)

Another couple came, Ed & Laraine Falkiewicz, on long island Cindy & Christine were on a track team and Ed was the coach, the are living in Raleigh now. This was the first time they came over to Christine's house, and it was a fine evening.

June 2010

July 18, 2010
June was a busy month, Buster after ten days moved from my daughter Christine's driveway to Dickens RV Park Moncure, NC, 50 amp (no meter) monthly and 18 mile drive from each daughters place. There is always a lot going on here. Softball & swimming teams practice, visiting and then a softball tournament weekend. Zane turned five in May will attend school in August had a graduation from pre-school. Cindy had a girl friend she grew up with on Long Island, down for a long weekend & had a birthday this month.

The whole month of June was above average temperatures, little rain and what rain there was did not effect any planned activities. Most days were into the 90's and some 100's, but the humidity was lower than Florida. In May when we were in Florida & Alabama the temperatures were lower but the humidity was up so the discomfort was different for each, we knew it is SUMMER. This June was like July of the past two years.
