Starting in Lakewood, NM I was doing dialysis in Artesia, NM three days a week (started March 2020). In May our daughter in Austin, TX (Carole) came for a visit for a few days. One of the days we were talking of the future what were our plans for the future. I had none but my wife wanted to move back east to North Carolina near our two other daughters.

Carole

By the end of the month we had decided to sell our moterhome and buy a destination trailer. In June giving up our lot at Lakewood and traveling to San Angelo, TX to purchase our trailer. Moving our Personnel affects (tiering) onto the trailer and having the trailer transported to North Carolina.

My wife in the kitchen with salesman

In San Angelo and along the way east I had to have dialysis three times before arriving in North Carolina. July first we arrived on North Carolina. Our daughter Christine was able to be there to receive the trailer, the transport driver made the trip faster than us traveling by car and stopping for me having dialysis treatment. Upon arriving I did need a treatment and had nothing scheduled so I went to the hospital. Covid test (PCR) and treatment I then was able to get a “chair” at a new Fresenius dialysis center in Holly Springs North Carolina, about the same distance as Artesia was from Lakewood. We still had more to do setting everything up around the house. Our son-in-law helped me build a deck and porch off our entry door. We needed a large gas bottle (100 pounder) for our heat, our son-in-law purchased that and transported that to the park.

the deck we built

Over the summer our daughter from Austin, TX (Carole) and her son (Avery) came east for a visit, nice and our three daughters got together with us, a fun time.

100 hundred pound bottle

Then a round of doctors, Primary Care, my wife & I, Cardiologist and dialysis doctor. A PD catheter (sometimes called a Tenckhoff catheter) is a special tube (some of that is sticking out of my belly) that is inserted into your abdominal cavity (space around the organs within your tummy). A 2000 ML liquid is put in thru the PD catheter for an amount of time then drained out removing toxins and water. Which means the 2000 in and 2400 out, the amount out varies with the amount of water removed. This training started December twenty. This PD dialysis will be done at home so I am switching to home dialysis. Training for this is in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina. So we have boxes of supplies for both systems with some stored a my daughters house

So now it is the new year we have a lot of learning to do. There are two processes we have to learn manual and with a machine that does the work overnight. These two processes use different size bags of liquid and each process uses three types of liquid to cleans the blood and remove water.

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; Leaving the clinic in Holly Springs going to main street I turned onto a short street for on block to turn onto main street we saw three deer at the end of the street two jumped the berm on the right and the third went back to the left into the tree line but turned it's head back to watch us.

From there we went to Wake Med hospital in Cary today, I would say we got pushed around and put off when I would get the dialysis done. we arrived at the hospital around 6:25am they took me in to get vitals in about ten minutes then back to the waiting room for two and a half hours before going to the room in emergency got the PCR test for the Fresenius dialysis clinic. Doing all sorts of tests and sitting and waiting. Then transferred to a room upstairs for the night.

John and Ariana stopped at our house on their way home from Greensboro, NC getting things we will need for the night, because we are staying here over night.

Moncure, NC - Tuesday, July 6, 2021

Morning 6 Degrees, Wind at to Mph, Humidity %, .

I was taken to the dialysis room just before 8 am, finally and discharged after dialysis was completed. My blood was too thin because of the medication I am taking and what I had eaten. I also need a Cardiologist to monitor my pacemaker. Cindy our daughter came with me to the Cardiologist office as she had worked there years ago. She had wanted me to see a different doctor but this doctor is in the same office. The doctor she wanted me to see was booked thru the first part of November. The INR had dropped to 1.7 after not taking the medicine for three days as when I first heard the number was 4.6 and trying to maintain a 2-3 range a normal is one for a pacemaker and my afib. We got going early, for us. Went to Fresenius dialysis clinic for dialysis that Christine helped setup, but I did not have a covid-19 PCR test they would not due the dialysis. We then went to Walmart for groceries then to Wake Med in Apex having to get a coved-19 test for the dialysis clinic and dialysis as it turned out they

its not able to do dialysis there as they only handle emergency’s there, it is not a full hospital. They did a chest x-ray and blood work, that turned out find except my INR was high. They gave me a script for a diarrheic to get rid of water. Back to Walmart to get the script filled. I have an appointment for Monday at a dialysis place 7:15 am. We went there just to check where the location was at, heavy traffic getting there and getting away from there but we were on our way home, with traffic thinning more as we got further away from the city.

Moncure, NC - Saturday, July 3, 2021

Morning 61 Degrees, Wind SE at 0 to 1 Mph, Humidity 94%, sunny

We are still sorting and putting away all our things from Buster here in Texas Tilly. It seems like it is a never ending job.

We took time to attend Zane’s baseball games in High Point, NC. The first game was in a stadium down town and the second was out side of town six miles away. We stopped to eat dinner on the way home and arrived just at dark. We had a good time with our daughter and her husband and their daughter. Zane played good and pitched some innings but only one hit at bat. It was a long day and we are skipping today as the early game is at nine o’clock and the second game is at 11:30 am. We are staying home to do more work and get things settled down to something like normal. But everything is new so we are making normal for most things. Now the other thing is to remember where everything is put away.

Moncure, NC - Sunday, July 4, 2021

Morning 63 Degrees, Wind SE at 1 to 2 Mph, Humidity 95%, sunny.

We stayed home and worked trying to get things put away and the floor cleared.

After the game Christine & John came to our house to help me cut the bed platform from a king size to a queen size. We crossed the “The Big River” today at Vicksburg, Mississippi, so we are now east of the Mississippi river. Next big mile stone is to be northeast of Atlanta, GA. While having dinner tonight there was a down pour a real gully washer, for a few minutes. Temps 86 with 90 % humidity, but the rain was done by the time we were ready to leave the restaurant.

Suwanee GA - Wednesday, June 30, 2021

Morning 72 Degrees, Wind SE at 1 to 2 Mph, Humidity 92%, partly sunny.

Crossing from Alabama into Georgia we crossed into eastern time zone for the first time in a couple of years. I forgot to mention on Saturday the nineteenth we crossed into central time zone from mountain time. There were some spots getting onto the I 285 around Atalanta, but all the roads were heavy traffic.

Moncure, NC - Thursday July 1, 2021

Morning 72 Degrees,

Afternoon 91 Degrees,

We got going early this morning on the road by seven am. There is construction much of the remaining miles in Georgia and we stopped in South Carolina for breakfast. Traffic is still heavier than we are used to here in the east, we were living a sheltered life in New Mexico.

Coming up I 85 near Charlotte there is I 485 around the city, and I do want to avoid the city of Charlotte so I switch to that but I don’t know where I want to get off and I 485 is telling me it is going south, but I just came from the south going north? I tried taking two different exits, no paper maps to be had at the first convince store we stopped at, back to I 485. The second exit took us east and we did want that so after a while the GPS wanted me to go south again. There I found US 52 north that is good as I know where that leads to, it took me back to I 85, but it was north of the city of Charlotte. I took that to US 64 east to Pittsboro and I knew our way from there to the RV park. We are now back on course. Latter I found out we should have stayed on I 485 to exit 31.

We arrived at our trailer about three fifteen after a long drive everything was fine just a lot of work ahead of us both inside the trailer and outside setting up doctors and other things. Chris and John came over after their work to help latter.

Georgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06293217933289386039noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3845720438396637784.post-64819107628645996382021-07-08T06:37:00.002-06:002021-07-10T12:00:32.889-06:00Traveling East
San Angelo, TX - Saturday June 26, 2021

Afternoon 92 Degrees, Wind at to Mph, Humidity %, .

We started our trip to North Carolina after breakfast with a stop at the dealership, I was thinking of a telescoping pole that was not transferred into the trailer, it was still there in Buster, got that in the car now. We traveled northeast on US 67 to Stephenville, Texas switching to US 377 and forty five miles later we were on Interstate 20 east.

In Stephenville we stopped for a pee break getting back on the road I did not see we should have followed the loop around to the right, talking as we continued on we saw gas a the lowest price in a year at HEB grocery store and even passed that and had to circle back, we needed gas anyway. Then we circle back to get on the loop road. We ended our day in Terrell, Texas passing by a Buc-ees travel stop as it was too busy the parking lot was very full, but we did get gasoline as there are 60 pumps.

The transport driver started the day in Louisiana he is moving right along.

Terrell, Texas - Sunday, June 27, 2021

Morning 76 Degrees, Wind SE at 6 to 7 Mph, Humidity 96%, partly sunny.

I 20 east leaving Texas today into Louisiana stopping in West Monroe. We have stopped in a campground here many times over the years with Buster.

The transport driver delivered the trailer to the RV park about 4 pm today putting it in our lot. Our daughter and husband were there to receive the trailer for us.

We ended our day in West Monroe, LA today.

West Monroe Louisiana - Monday, June 28, 2021

Morning 75 Degrees, Wind SE at 4 to 5 Mph, Humidity 94%, mostly cloudy.

Afternoon 92 Degrees

Dialyses this afternoon and laundry was our big item today. After breakfast was finding where the laundry is located as we had looked it up on line first and then finding the dialysis place also looked on my phone. We got the right building at first but not the right door as it was around the side of the building. Lunch and a nap before dialysis because I would not be out before eight o’clock.

This evening our daughter and husband were at the trailer setting the jacks and connecting the water and electric for the trailer. They also opened the slide outs and turned on the air conditioning for us.

Georgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06293217933289386039noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3845720438396637784.post-5487580699455280992021-07-08T06:18:00.000-06:002021-07-10T12:00:49.393-06:00Georgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06293217933289386039noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3845720438396637784.post-89789268525064939492021-07-08T05:23:00.002-06:002021-07-08T05:23:41.648-06:00Transferring to the trailer from Buster
San Angelo, TX - Wednesday June 23

Afternoon HOT 100 degrees.

I had a 10 ten o’clock appointment this morning (dialysis) so after 2 we had lunch and drove out to the dealership to Buster. That was the second time as we went out about 8;30 am to get my insulin under refrigeration. In the afternoon we were stalled for an hour before we could get busy transferring from Buster to our trailer. Getting Buster in position to make the transfer was the problem as the trailer was not parked where we expect it to be.

Getting the King mattress out was one of first concern and our sleep number mattress into the trailer. The salesman did all the bull work getting the king out was easier as it was pretty firm.

The sleep number was kind of limp as I lowered the air pressure for travel. While we were doing that my wife was working in the kitchen. More work transferring tomorrow.

San Angelo, TX - Thursday, June 24, 2021

Morning 76 Degrees, Wind S at 10 to 21 Mph, Humidity 76%, mostly sunny.

Afternoon 101 Degrees.

The final push, getting Buster emptied out after fourteen years. My wife concentrated on the upper or living area wile concentrated on the lower storage area. But of course I helped her also. The Sales man helped me with the storage bays as I donned my knee pads and getting underneath passing things out he walked them over to the trailer placing things at the correct end of the trailer. We ended up finishing that job quicker than I expected. He was not available all time but was a great help running what I pulled out. It’s hard for me getting up from under the storage compartment and onetime helped me up by lift me by my suspenders on my back. Today for dinner we had Italian pizza, good for Texas.

Georgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06293217933289386039noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3845720438396637784.post-49879516178975289512021-07-04T06:32:00.002-06:002021-07-04T06:32:39.509-06:00

I have a lot of catching up to do. I put in the address for the trailer dealership and it did not display the correct addresses o I select the closes match. It did not take us in the correct direction. I tried to make adjustments it did not work we were lost. So I called the dealership had them direct us there, it worked out.

We were able to walk around “our” trailer. Took some pictures, it was hot no power on the rig today and we escaped and had dinner at Cheddar’s. we had seen pictures of different rigs and was not sure what “ours” looked like. We found everything right except options we wanted were not there and installed. Missing are washer dryer, dishwasher. Other things we wanted we could pass on.

That is all that I got on the computer
Georgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06293217933289386039noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3845720438396637784.post-15449024828339717572021-06-20T16:25:00.000-06:002021-06-20T16:25:29.795-06:00On The Road
The SKP Ranch Lakewood, NM - Saturday, June 19, 2021

On the road this morning, early as it was eleven thirty by the time we started rolling down the road. There was a lot of good bey's. Still more to stuff under Buster and thru out and the power cable, water hose and sewer hose. We made Big spring tonight pulling into the campground at 4:31pm local time as we crossed into central time at the Texas state line. Going down the road and making a turn the refrigerator would open and thing s would come out and fall on the floor. We were putting the refrigerator lock in place wrong the second time I did it correctly and no more problems. Stopping in Hobbes, New Mexico for diesel fuel $ 3.419 a gallon. But if we wanted in the refrigerator be very carful that nothing fell out when you opened the doors, with no spring rods in place.

The power switch in Tan Jan gave us a problem as it did not work, we just pressed on to deal with it tonight, at tonight’s campground. I had to take out the switch returning the cables to the correct post. Then I had to jump start Tan Jan from the house batteries in Buster as the cables were long enough to reach the car battery. We went to eat and shopping for spring rods to put in the refrigerator. I purchased a GFI tester so I can check all the outlets in the trailer when we do our walk thru. We also have a USB cable to test those ports.

Georgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06293217933289386039noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3845720438396637784.post-55869155305863516932021-06-05T19:31:00.001-06:002021-06-05T19:31:10.230-06:00Making plans to move
We listed Buster on line, I put 6 pictures of the outside in the add, Crags list Roswell. Sleeping last night I was almost off the bed, my lovely wife had moved over pushing me almost off the bed. Waking up I thought I would not wake her and go around to the other side getting back in bed on the other side. Bad idea, I fell stepping off the engine box part of the floor at the foot of the bed. My left leg knee and left foot hurt, nothing broken, just hurts putting weight on the foot and knee. I woke her up when I fell.
We were having an hot uneventful day until about six o’clock last evening.
Watching there was an explosion and “stuff” falling on Buster. Going outside I found the propane gas line and uncovered leaking gas, I shut off the valve on the tank stopping the gas from leaking. I tried to call the telephone number of the gas company but no answer. The fire department was called and they were able to get a telephone number of someone at the gas company to come out. They will come Monday morning to repair the line. It did take a while for the propane gas company man to arrive.

My lovely wife an I took a ride to Hobs, NM and had lunch at Arby’s something different. Even were able to eat inside, by our selves, no one else there, if was OK, it was after one thirty in the afternoon. The drive thru we saw also slow, across the street the Sonic was busy, but there was covered parking spaces for eating in their cars. After we had eaten we drove further east to Seminole, Texas and on south to Odessa, Texas going to a H E B grocery store. They have a BBQ lunch counter with seating. I ordered brisket takeout for tomorrow. We like H E B BBQ brisket we had gotten in Pleasanton, Texas. Tan Jan needed gasoline and I was able to full up there at H E B at $ 1.599 the lowest price of the year to date. I followed basically a west direction heading home on Texas FM and state roads getting to US 285 north of Pecos, Texas and heading north from there back into New Mexico thru Carlsbad to home.

We did quite a bit alone today, three hundred sixty-seven miles driving. Three stores two states and eight county’s. I have cut my blood medications (about a week and a half) as my blood pressure has been on the low side even getting too low. This was causing dizziness when moving my head too much or too fast. It also resulted in feeling unbalanced and wobbly when my head moved too fast. Now my blood pressure has increased today (Sunday morning) 113/65 pulse 66 and last night when we came home my blood pressure was 141/81 pulse 70. And I felt good the whole day even with all the driving.

I did quite a bit today outside this morning before the temperature got too much above ninety degrees. Dumping our black tank and changing out our water hose putting away our heated winter hose. Spraying a few weeds and putting out some seeds for the birds.
Ruidoso and Alamogordo Cloudcroft, what a trifecta of cities. Two hundred and
ninety-six miles round trip from Lakewood, NM. My lovely wife and I had never been to Ruidoso out US 70 from Roswell. A nice four lane road that climbs out to sixth-five hundred feet of altitude from about thirty-five hundred feet in Roswell. The temperature dropped up at a higher altitude, nice. We continued west to Tularosa, NM meeting US 54 going south to Alamogordo.

After spending some time there we went on to Alamogordo to have lunch-dinner at Johnny Carino’s. Alamogordo in the four thousand foot range we followed US 82 which has a fast rise in sixteen miles to Cloudcroft at eighty-six hundred and fifty feet. From there we had a hundred mile slow roll out to Artesia back down to thirty-three hundred foot level. We had a nice up and down day.
