We have meetings, committees have meetings, and mens coffee. Coffee blends into the water committee meeting. That ends with a few minutes to long range planning committee meeting these meetings were for committee organization of the coming year, which is committee chairman selection. Me as board of directors liaison to these committees I started the meeting to get a chair elected for each committee and attend meetings to bring requests or information to board of directors meetings.
Our water committee is also responsible for the waste water pond (you know water in water out) we are accumulating debris in the bottom. Debris is needle grass and other wind blown "stuff' gets wet then sinks to the bottom. We have installed two pumps that circulate water putting a foot to a foot and a half column of water above the pond surface to aid the evaporation of water. Debris gets in the pump inlet and stopping flow. Now we need to clear the inlet on a regular schedule. We will put up screening like what is used on tennis courts six foot high.
Our co-op board finalized our operating budget for 2011 in our meeting today.

The Ranch Lakewood New Mexico West of the Pacos River 36 degrees partly sunny. There was a message on the white board in the ranch house saying there were giving flu shots in Artesia today at the senior center nine to two. I attended mens coffee nine to ten and water meeting at ten in the ranch house. After that there were men working on a water leak near the park office. There was enough workers I just giving my support. There was a tee fitting that had a small leak that is repaired and we will keep the hole open a few days to insure the repaired area is dry before backfilling the hole.
By the time we got to Artesia and purchased propane gas then to the senior center it was just before noon. They were closing for lunch. We went to Wally world for a few things. Back at the senior center at one they said no they had flu shots there last week flu shots are being given at the adult day care center.

The Ranch Lakewood New Mexico West of the Pacos River 39 degrees mostly sunny, to 70 degrees.
Another busy day at The Ranch today, this morning nine to noon there was a craft sale in the Ranch House, we did not go to that. At twelve thirty a Bar B Que lunch was served to a full room about eighty attended.
The boys won tonight I have adjusted the score as the boys lost one more that I remembered (13 - 5 girls). We the boys (George, Don & Art) jumped out there winning the first round and had put them (the girls, Bonnie, Doris & Sherry) behind by 300 point at the double one.

At two thirty there was a poker walk, you are given a page with thirteen questions. These are clues and you find the answers in the park on different sites. When your paper is turned in the correct answers are card numbers. The best numbers is the winner.

The Ranch - Race Night
Friday, November 5, 2010
The Ranch Lakewood New Mexico West of the Pacos River 37 degrees mostly sunny, to 67 degrees. Happy Birthday Carole
Today from 9:00 to noon there were yard sales and my camera was safely put away inside Buster (I forgot to get pictures). Well any there were some things sold. Most cloths given (donated) to the swop table. Of course we did purchase some also.

Tonight at 7:00 there were Horse Races at The Ranch House, right inside the meeting room. In the picture there are boxes on the floor with the six Horses at the red starting line. Four dice are rolled together and horses move one space per die. With a roll of 1, 3, 4 & 6 the one, three, four and 6 horses move one space with a double or a triple that horse moves two or three spaces. The horses go up turn around and come back to the starting line. The race requires two for turning in the last box, one to enter one to turn to start back to the finish line and another to advance.
Here are the horses coming to the finish line but to finish the winner needs a "double" that is why they are bunching up at the finish line. Man O War (3) did win the first race and The Old Nag (5) won the second race. The other race winners tonight were two, four and six (I only remember the horse numbers and not the horse names).
The money, bets are $0.25 and the winning bettors are indicating how many winning bets they have with their fingers for the tally person. There was a little wine flowing to loosen up the bettors and the horses also. It was a fun evening for all.
The train people were at the horse races tonight.
