Last year Buster was at Carefree Manor RV park in Apache Junction, Arizona Carole, Jackie and Avery stayed in a hotel in Mesa, Arizona on their way back to California.

It is a treat to have all our children here in Boone Carole, Christine and Cindy with the grand children.

Hawksnest snow tubing in Seven Devils, NC the grandchildren had a great time tubing in the snow. There is a "magic carpet" or a moving walkway to move tubers back up the hill to the starting area.

Holly Springs, North Carolina 42 degrees and partly sunny. We are doing a family travel to "snow" in Boone North Carolina.

Boone North Carolina La Quinta Inn 29 degrees and mostly sunny. Travel today as Silver Sally was driven one hundred and ninety-three miles to Boone, NC and we are hotel-ing it tonight.

After arriving in the area it was lunch at Panera Bread then grandchildren were taken by the parents to Mystery Hill in Blowing Rock NC, Bonnie and I checked into the hotel. We all went for pizza tonight.

Holly Springs, North Carolina 37 degrees and rain to 50 degrees and partly sunny. It started raining during the night, heavy for a while then only a drizzle.

Early out today ten to noon to go Roller skating in Cary, NC all except Jackie, Cindy and I had skates on as we were the chickens. After that we had lunch at Sweet Tomatoes then to the park to wear down the children’s energy. After dinner it was Mexican train and football on the television, college bowl games.

Boy we have not seen this much rain since Austin, TX last May. We did some shopping for tonight’s dinner with me doing the cooking. Other than that Bonnie and I stayed dry. When we went out to go shopping there was rain but it tapered off and we stayed dry most of the shopping trip.

Cindy came over for the Christmas morning about eight-thirty and we all opened presents together. Played all day inside and out with the grand children and an early dinner just a great day. Ariana and John made bacon for breakfast outside.

All Christmas eve stuff today, getting ready for Christmas. John’s sister Tracy stopped in around noon for a while and our daughter Cindy came over after work today. Zane and Ariana each had a friend over to play in the latter afternoon.

Today I started trip planning for our Florida journey in January expecting two or three overnight stops.

Then stopped that and assembled a (TV) furniture cabinet for Christine and john while they were preparing for Christmas eve evening meal. Then off to Cary looking for a Television.

Then after dinner it was driving to Cindy’s giving her some cough syrup and our looking at Christmas light displays. Christine and I sat in the back with John driving and Bonnie navigating and the kids in the middle watching a video and the lights. The mini van is the station wagon of the present.

Early this morning John and I went to his friends Thomas’s house to help replace a door frame with a single door and a fixed panel to a French doors. The original was rotted and needed changing and Thomas was upgrading to the two moving doors. Well the job got extra difficult with having to remove a tight fitting assembly and then the replacement special order "French doors" were tighter trying to install. With these wedged partly in place, the second set of hinges were found missing.

Turns out the new door set was the same only the fixed panel was on the other side and this was a special order from Home Depot. Well now we go to reinstall the original door frame that was tight coming out and we cannot get it back in place. Well we ended up cutting the top house frame two by four out and trimming it down a half of an inch. Now the door jams fit in easy. Resizing the opening is the only accomplishment for the day’s work. Now let us watch some football for the rest of the day.

The cold rain front moving across the country passed thru here last night with heavy rain and high winds and cooler this morning.

The weather only enforces our plans to travel south to Florida after the first of January in an effort to keep warm. I also need to renew my drivers license before the end of February.

Getting ready for Christmas here and Bonnie and I went out to dinner with Christine and her husband and children (no pictures).

A day to "Go Postal", I went to the post office for Christine mailing cards and purchasing stamps for me. There were no parking spaces open as I pulled in but as I circled to parking lot a space opened across from the entrance. Inside there was a line with a twenty-five minute wait to mail packages.

Then over to Cindy’s to walk the dog "Paco" as she was having a long day at work.
