Black Friday, we go to the car dealer to get a new key for Tan Jan as we have had only one key for months. Bonnie has misplaced her key and has been looking for it everywhere with no luck in finding the key. Today is the stop looking day and purchase a new key day. The return trip we stopped in several places picking up little things here and there. Carole’s dogs are doing very well with us here responding to the needs and wishes they have. Carole and family will be home tomorrow.

Well I moved Buster to a secret location here in Austin. When I started the engine the buzzer problem has returned. Several start and stops later I started quickly before the start sequence completed, turning the horn on. No horn sound and letting the engine run but after moving the horn came on for a short time and went off again ok I can live with that for a short drive. This happened again four more times and was done for the trip.

We will be here until Saturday and the move to a RV park for a few more nights. The dogs are doing great. And the Buster move as it for our outs for the day.

Well this is an interesting day. Carole and Family headed out for a thanksgiving trip to visit friends. We were going to move Buster to a secret location in Austin and take care of their senior pets (three, two dogs and a cat). Buster was ready to move I started the engine and one of the two air systems had zero on the gage and the warning horn remained on. Plan B get Bonnie on pet duty and return to Buster to troubleshoot the problem.

When I started Buster’s engine, the air pressure in both systems was up but the horn was still sounding, ok locate the horn. Turn off the engine and try to find where the horn is installed, squish between the seat and the dashboard, turn the engine on the again listen, noise turn it off. I am stuck between the seat and the dashboard, took a while longer to wiggle out than the time to get in there and still did not locate the horn, it is right there but I am not touching it. Turn on the engine again the horn goes off after the key is released from the start, then comes on again and the air pressure is well above the sixty-seven psi threshold for turning off the horn, turn the engine off again. Try again the horn stays off, everything is working normal? Interment electrical problem?

Next is I need to call insurance about getting Tan Jan’s windshield replaced as Tan Jan took a rock at the top of the glass leaving a star then cracking from the drivers side to and descending to the passengers side. Insurance company made a four o’clock appointment at Safe Light glass, and they are almost to Round Rock, TX east side of I 35. What a nice difference new glass makes. Busy day running around.

Boston College at Florida State, FSU was tied or leading the whole game as they scored the first touchdown in the game. Still a close win # 27 in a row and 11 - 0 this season.

A nice drying out day to me. Last night Bonnie and I had dinner with our daughter Carole, Avery and Jackie at Angle’s Ice House here in Spicewood. It was great after a rainy & busy day for all and we only had a six mile drive home to Buster.

A slow start for today we were early to bed last night and late to get up this morning with no gate to get on edge about for opening. We met up with Carole, Avery and Jackie later in the afternoon and had dinner together.

It was a run around day for Bonnie and I starting with going to the downtown post office where my mail package was located. It was there and we got position of that, great. While there I asked what the telephone number is there, yes the same I had, just that it is NOT answered.

From there we to several stores in town and then had lunch at Chuy’s (Mexican) then traveled to Buda, TX looking for RV twelve volt bulbs for the house (Buster). There just happens to be a Cabela’s there, Bonnie found a sweatshirt that she wanted. Gasoline $ 2.509 a gallon there, Saturday traveling in the rain we saw the gasoline price at $ 2.459 a gallon.

After Avery’ school we went with them to martial arts training, and pizza dinner.

This flair at the compressor facility across the road has been burning more the past few days, and the picture does not due it justice in color and shape. The higher flame is accompanied by excessive noise so you know it is burning.

The replacement gate guards came about five this afternoon just to see and chat. They will be back six-thirty in the morning.

The replacement gate guards arrived on time while we were finishing our packing up stowing of our things. The left rear jack did not come up as expected and took some thought before quickly stowing. It was stuck to the ground so I started the enfine to build up air pressure which inflates the air bag suspension. The left rear still did not come up after breaking free from the ground. I got out my trusty stick to add additional force to raise the jack with no movement, more thinking. Ok shut off the engine to stop the noise, noise from the horn that sounds when a jack is not stowed correctly in place for driving. Thinking ends, when I started the engine to build air pressure, the jack system power was lost, driver did not select retract again.  As soon as I pressed the stow button the jack came up and stowed correctly.  I pulled up in the driveway sothey could get their rig in place, Bonnie had moved Tan Jan out of the way must have left the key on and would not restart without jump.  We departed the gate before eight this morning headed first to Pilot in Tilden for diesel fuel for Buster, $ 3.329 a gallon today.

An easy 173 mile trip north on TX 16 to I 35 to US 281 to TX71 east to Spicewood. But there was a lot of rain as we drove north, a lot of wheel spray reducing viability and I reduced speed accordingly. There was a real heavy shower as we turned east on TX 71 but slowed as we arrived at the re park. More rain as I disconnected Tan Jan from Buster and backed into the site.

Went to Pleasanton for a quick shopping trip just a few things to hold us into next week, as we travel north on Saturday. The trip was interesting as it was partly cloudy leaving the gate and a full rain in Jourdanton and light rain in Pleasanton. Not much use washing Tan Jan with the rain. The return trip I was on dry roads about eight miles from Buster. Today I started the pickup and put away for our traveling starting on Saturday, morning I hope. We do not have a report time for our replacements.

Florida State went to Miami, Florida tonight to play the Miami Hurricanes, win number twenty six in a row for Florida State. It was well into the fourth quarter before scoring the winning touchdown (30 - 26). The gate had a slow Saturday.

The fog burned off late morning and I could see the cold front coming south (dark cloud bank) as predicted by the weather talkers. Between trips out to let in vehicles late morning the temperature dropped enough for me to have a jacket on the next time out.

For this Gate it was an above average day of pickup trucks and oil tankers with the first oil tankers coming early at five o’clock. By early afternoon the traffic slowed down to the usual slow afternoon.

I have planning to do for our trip to Austin thanksgiving week and setting for our senior fur kids while our daughters family visits other family.

Drug screen I got called for a random drug screen this morning. I only had to report to Tilden five miles from our gate. The company has an office there where a sample take was present. 

We are making plans to take some time off from our gate.  We will leave here the weekend before Thanksgiving and return after Thanksgiving weekend.

I went onto Pleasanton for the heavy shopping and found our debit card was blocked because I had used it in a Home Depot. Another one has been issued. This means I need to have our mail sent with the new card. 

I did not get a picture, but we had a single cow (white, brown spotted) come to dine on the grass/weeds next to the dirt road. He was just beyond the fence post in the left side of the picture.

NASCAR Texas, and after the race a hockey game broke out. There was bumping on the track in the next to the last restart resulting in a tire going down. This was the spark to the “hockey game” that broke out after the race.

We had a little gate activity today with our usual trucks for oil and water and the regular turn always, that did not go far enough down the road to the correct well site. One parts delivery pickup truck was three miles short of his delivery point.

We had another afternoon visit by our wildlife community, that family of three deer showed for the five o’clock dinner. One of the two young ones was picking the red fruit off the prickly pear bush.

Now I need to graze some

At that time the others had not arrived so he was feasting alone. After having the red fruit he moved into to cleared area the other two showed with the three grazing and then moving into the tree line after a while. The deer were about a half of an hour total from first to last sighting.

I awoke to the wind pulling and snapping the awnings then the rain and lightening as a front moved south thru our area.

Florida State almost had a trick played on them (last night) but did win the game (42 - 31) late in the fourth quarter. They were down 21 to 0 in the second quarter and ended the first half 21 to 7.

My weekly trip to Pleasanton for restocking the larder today and gasoline was $ 2.699 per gallon, nice. I had waited until after nine thirty to start out allowing the rain to move on thru and into the drying cycle. There was more than a quarter of an inch of rain in a long shower early this morning.

It is the "fallback" time moving our clocks this is our clock, but it is hard to only fallback an hour with this clock.
