Our plan for the day was going to San Antonio and purchase some new bulbs for the bathroom, getting ready to go there I got a text message that my third pair of glasses were ready to pick up in Victoria. So I called the gate coordinator letting him know we are available for a gate after the weekend before leaving Buster.

Well that made for a big driving day of over three hundred miles round trip and a lot of stops. First I put gas in Tan Jan and headed to San Antonio, Texas arriving there I got a call from the gate coordinator for a gate, tomorrow seven in the morning. I tried to push our start time to latter in the day as we needed to shop and complete our planned out trip today, I said we could not be there before noon, he said that would be ok someone will be there at seven and relief them and that would be ok. The bathroom light bulbs did not arrive at Texas RV Supply but we did pick up a couple of stick on lights one for the kitchen area. On the way to Victoria, Texas I got a call my prescription was ready in Pleasanton, Texas, so now the plan changed again.

I got this pair of glasses for the computer bifocal, the up or regular looking area of the lens is my reading but for arms out length the lower small area is regular reading I need correction to view the smaller print icons on the computer screen. While waiting I saw a desk caddy to put them in so I do not have to lay them down. We had lunch-dinner and headed to the pharmacy in Pleasanton getting there just after six-thirty as the pharmacy closes at seven. We did some other shopping while there (Walmart) fill the gas tank again ($2.109 a gallon) and went to H E B to complete our shopping.

Now start getting ready to move Buster, we need to leave on the early side tomorrow for a trip to Ladero, Texas.

Move day, we did not have too much outside to put away as we were only going to be here for one week I kept that to a minimum. There was more to be done inside though, as the time went by taking something out of being packed away we did not put them back, whatever. Two slide outs went in normally but the third right side was a problem one end did not move. Checking things out I found a sheer bolt broken. I had to call our gate coordinator telling him we will not be there as planned. Now get in there and remove the parts, moving some things (as little as possible) to get me inside the compartment. My wife helped by fetching tools I forgot and operating the switches inside, saving me some climbing out and up and down inside and outside. After getting the broken parts out I needed replacements, so it was off to the hardware store for grade eight 1/4 X two inch bolts, yes bolts one replacement and three spares. Coming back and getting in the compartment again and getting the whole lined up to get the bolt in place requires bumping the switch to rotate the electric motor (my wife’s help). With the new bolt in place the slide out came in came in correctly. That was the last thing we needed before rolling Buster. So I disconnected the electric power and started the engine. Pulling out and connecting Tan Jan we are now ready to roll about three hours latter than planned.

We took the same roads back to Laredo area our work area is out there in the boondocks. TX 97 thru Charlotte to TX 85 to Dilley and interstate thirty-five to TX two-fifty-five west to FM 1472 to the dirt road in seven and a half miles. We arrived about four in the afternoon. I stopped in Cotulla giving Buster a drink of diesel ($ 2.799). I could have stopped in Pleasanton and payed less but would have been more hassel getting in and reconnecting Tan Jan to Buster after fueling up. Throughout the morning everything was wet was from the misty rain. We drove out of that and driving I never needed to use the windshield wipers.

Now the long dirt road only doing between five and ten miles per hour. I kept Buster in first gear so I would not go too fast. The worst bumpy road we have been driven on. Seven and a half miles off the paved road. I got Buster parked and started our setup.
We are on the job, this will be another frack location.

My blood and urine work came back and the doctor wanted to go over that with me. I was able to go right in after a short wait in the waiting room. A1C is better than my last blood test. Urine protean was also down from the last test, the doctor was concerned about both in my previous blood and urine tests. This afternoon a mail shipment arrived so that was my evening work going thru that important mail.

Another cold and dreary day with no reason to go outside Buster. More to do with the snail mail that came yesterday. I also was able to spend time assembling our tax information with the information that came in the mail.

A nicer day and some sunshine in the afternoon. We were out early to the hospital for my wife’s mammogram test.  After that we took a ride to San Antonio I need to replace a broken clasp for a cabinet door, this is RV specific so I went to Texas RV Supply. I got that cabinet clasp and a new bulb for the shower but it is not fitting, more work needed to make it fit. This bulb is a different shape than the present one.

Took our tax paperwork to our tax person in Three Rivers, Texas. After that we lunch-dinner there before driving home.

We left Buster for our trip to Victoria with extra time to be there early. We took Texas 97 east to US 87 south for a hundred and twenty mile trip. Tan Jan stopped in Cuero for a drink of gasoline (the tank was not full when we started). Properly should have filled up yesterday a nickel more a gallon there, and a dime more in Victoria. We arrived early and they took me early, good. The exam went well and a new prescription was written. Next door for the glasses three pair, bifocals, sun and computer glasses. This time I got the computer glasses bifocals with the small regular reading and the seeing (large area) reading long distance. My present computer glasses are single correction reading long distance (distance was measured from the computer to my eye).

I have to wait a week for the computer glasses. We went to dinner and hung around waiting for a text message for when the other two glasses were ready. By the time the other two glasses were done (bifocals and bifocal sunglasses) the drive back home to Buster was all at night. For that reason I elected to return a different way. A little longer but maybe a little quicker as there was more four lane at a higher speed limit (75). We came home via US 59 and interstate thirty-seven north to Pleasanton. Made a long day running around, rest tomorrow.

Movie day, we went to see the 15 : 17 to Paris, the true story of three Americans traveling in Europe. These are three boys that took down a terrorist on a train traveling to Paris. We enjoyed the movie and it was interesting to see the boys playing themselfs in the movie.

Got up a little later today no gate work but I need to pick up and pack Buster for traveling. We are heading to Pleasanton for doctor visits next week. After daybreak I was outside working on braking down and packing and after a while and I knew the doctors office was open I stopped and called for an appointment, great Monday morning, fasting for blood work.

We were all ready except for the dump tank, had to wait for then before disconnecting and packing the wood blocks I was usinf to provide slope to the pipe going into the tank bottom connector.

We were right there for an easy get on interstate thirty-five. I watched many vehicles leave the gate and get on the interstate thirty-five heading north now it is our turn. Stopped in Cotulla topped up Buster’s diesel fuel tank. Continued north to Texas highway eighty-five over to Texas highway ninety-seven to Pleasanton. The wind was blowing us around the lane a little but not bad.

We were tired after packing Buster and driving today so we went out to eat Mexican here in Pleasanton.

Shopping day, it has been a week since our last shopping but because we will be in town shopping will not be the same as when we are at the gate. For that reason some things already on the list will be scratched, not needed.

We headed to San Antonio for Olive Garden and that was a forty minute wait for a table, not this couple, we went next door to Red Lobster where there was only a ten minute wait. Otherwise a restful day.

We both had our doctor visit and blood pulled at the doctors office and new prescriptions. Tried to schedule my wife’s mammogram but they never called back today. We were there during lunch hour, but they had the whole afternoon to call back.

We went back to the hospital before lunch today and got an appointment for next Wednesday. So we will be here another week. Scheduled an eye appointment for myself for tomorrow. I will be going to the same eye doctors office as my last appointment, otherwise it would have been four eye examinations in four different offices. It will be a distance over to Victoria but I want the same doctor to examine my eyes. It has been two years and I have had my eyes examined and twelve years since I had eye laser surgery.

The Friday “lookers and checkers” along with the flowback crew shift changes and water trucks was our day. Slow unexciting days until we get released from the gate. When released we are going to take a week off for doctor appointments. Going to travel to Pleasanton to be closer to the doctor in Jourdenton.

I thought Flowback is complete this afternoon, as the company was moving out. Earlier a guy from another company came and checked in and nothing for a while when another came to the gate I asked as I was checking him in and he said flowback crew that the first company has been “released”. So flowback is not complete.
 Flowback refers to a process by which the fluid used to hydraulically fracture a shale (rock) formation (oil) is recovered from the well at the surface. As it is done in preparation for a subsequent phase of treatment, or to cleanup and transition the well to a production stage, it is an important step in the drilling operation.  (Jaguar-Energy)

The only changes we notice is the frequency of water removal trucks, changes are a little longer time between truck arrivals and some trips round trips inside to the site (it is four miles on the road to the site) an back are longer, long time waiting to load..

We were released from our gate this afternoon. We will stay here tonight, I did very little to pack up and get ready to move Buster. There were still water trucks coming and going but they had had gate themselfs. It is not fun as when they stop and put on the parking brake it makes noise waking me.
