Sleeping last night I was almost off the bed, my lovely wife had moved over pushing me almost off the bed. Waking up I thought I would not wake her and go around to the other side getting back in bed on the other side. Bad idea, I fell stepping off the engine box part of the floor at the foot of the bed. My left leg knee and left foot hurt, nothing broken, just hurts putting weight on the foot and knee. I woke her up when I fell.

Today (Tuesday) even before leaving town I got a call with my direction for the week concerning my INR (blood thickness) continue what I am doing (my warfarin) two days a 5 MG pill the other days 2.5 pills. On dialysis days they give me Heparin is an anticoagulant (blood thinner) each treatment.

Morning 75 Degrees, Wind SE at 1 to 2 Mph, Humidity 57%, mostly sunny.

We were having an hot uneventful day until about six o’clock last evening.
Watching there was an explosion and “stuff” falling on Buster. Going outside I found the propane gas line and uncovered leaking gas, I shut off the valve on the tank stopping the gas from leaking. I tried to call the telephone number of the gas company but no answer. The fire department was called and they were able to get a telephone number of someone at the gas company to come out. They will come Monday morning to repair the line. It did take a while for the propane gas company man to arrive.
My left leg is getting better, not completely, the ball of my foot still hurts and the nee is still tender.

Morning 74 Degrees, Wind SE at 13 to 14 Mph, Humidity 65%, sunny.
My lovely wife an I took a ride to Hobs, NM and had lunch at Arby’s something different. Even were able to eat inside, by our selves, no one else there, if was OK, it was after one thirty in the afternoon. The drive thru we saw also slow, across the street the Sonic was busy, but there was covered parking spaces for eating in their cars. After we had eaten we drove further east to Seminole, Texas and on south to Odessa, Texas going to a H E B grocery store. They have a BBQ lunch counter with seating. I ordered brisket takeout for tomorrow. We like H E B BBQ brisket we had gotten in Pleasanton, Texas. Tan Jan needed gasoline and I was able to full up there at H E B at $ 1.599 the lowest price of the year to date. I followed basically a west direction heading home on Texas FM and state roads getting to US 285 north of Pecos, Texas and heading north from there back into New Mexico thru Carlsbad to home.
We did quite a bit alone today, three hundred sixty-seven miles driving. Three stores two states and eight county’s. I have cut my blood medications (about a week and a half) as my blood pressure has been on the low side even getting too low. This was causing dizziness when moving my head too much or too fast. It also resulted in feeling unbalanced and wobbly when my head moved too fast. Now my blood pressure has increased today (Sunday morning) 113/65 pulse 66 and last night when we came home my blood pressure was 141/81 pulse 70. And I felt good the whole day even with all the driving.

Ruidoso and Alamogordo Cloudcroft, what a trifecta of cities. Two hundred and
ninety-six miles round trip from Lakewood, NM. My lovely wife and I had never been to Ruidoso out US 70 from Roswell. A nice four lane road that climbs out to sixth-five hundred feet of altitude from about thirty-five hundred feet in Roswell. The temperature dropped up at a higher altitude, nice. We continued west to Tularosa, NM meeting US 54 going south to Alamogordo.
After spending some time there we went on to Alamogordo to have lunch-dinner at Johnny Carino’s. Alamogordo in the four thousand foot range we followed US 82 which has a fast rise in sixteen miles to Cloudcroft at eighty-six hundred and fifty feet. From there we had a hundred mile slow roll out to Artesia back down to thirty-three hundred foot level. We had a nice up and down day.

Yesterday and today I can feel my energy coming back a little more, and doing more. Yesterday we moved the portable air conditioner inside from the shed where it was sleeping all winter. I got the hand truck from the work shop to roll the air conditioner to Buster’s door and used it to lift it into Buster. I had made a new wood plate to fit the exhaust hose to and put the hot air outside of Buster. Today I had to trim the opening for the hose to snap into place. I and l taped the hose to the upper and lower fittings, so they wont work them selves off the hose. We have it running now.
Another thing about my energy level is the door on the car. When getting in the car there are two detents to keep the door open. The second one full wide open, if I got into the car seat and tried to pull the door closed I could not, I did not have the energy to bring the door closed . If the door was only half way open detent while sitting on the seat I could manage that. I got in the habit of holding the wide open door, handle while starting to sit down and pulling it closed to the other stop and then closing the door.
Now I cam close the wide open door while sitting on the seat in the car.

Well we did it, I went into the store (Walmart in Carlsbad, NM) for the first time since March 3 and that time I used a cart to get around the store. I did not have the energy to walk without sitting down every couple of minutes. Today we walked right in no line, I did not go to many departments but my lovely wife went to a few more departments than me. Restaurants are starting to open we were able to eat at a BBQ restaurant (sit down inside) for the first time since the closure back in March.
Next Thursday we need to be in Roswell for the doctor to check my arm vane and artery that he moved closer together for a port connection. He will do a sonogram to check and measure the size of the vane. The vane needs to be .6 center meters to put in he port for dialysis

Revised 5/30
Morning 57 Degrees, Wind S at 6 to 7 Mph, Humidity 31%, sunny.
Well yesterday I went to the Cardiologist for an INR check (blood thickness ). The meter failed (again) so today I visited the Carlsbad Hospital for a blood draw. The same thing happened at the beginning of the month. The last time the INR was 1.9 (at Carlsbad Hospital) the doctor want it at 2.0 to 3.0 for me. It had dropped down since April (INR 2.2) the end of the month I had an operation on my arm in anticipation of a port being put in there. Before the operation the surgeon had me stop taking the Warfarin for four days. Now it is taking time to get the INR re-balanced.
Wrist bands (or bracelets), more than I want to count, I have had since December. I was reminded of this when I went for the blood draw yesterday. Once I signed the papers, that is another story, they put another wrist band on my arm. Now I sit down in the lobby and wait a short time to get called. A door opens on the same side of the registration office I get called in. The person asks me my date of birth does the blood draw, I am done I leave, no one has looked at the wrist band? Why the wrist band. At the hospitals in Roswell and El Paso they scan the the wrist band be fore they do anything.
Actually I spent more time in the lobby and at the check in office signing papers, ten pages with signature or initials and I told her there is no changes in my insurance, I was in there earlier this month. Nope they want hard proof, cards or no service.

Took a trip to Roswell. We wanted to try a Whataburger. With all our time in Texas we never went to one. We had to order from the drive thru only and eat in the car. We found a shady spot to eat right there in the parking lot. Ordering from those menu boards is not my favorite thing to do. So these is the ordering spot and then the pick up and pay window. When we got to the window and double checked the ordered items before paying, it was wrong, that’s why I would rather go inside to order at the counter. So we pulled over to the side and waited for our order to be brought out side to us.
The SKP Ranch Lakewood, NM - Monday, May 25, 2020
Morning 61 Degrees, Wind N at 13 to 18 Mph, Humidity 65%, cloudy.
I called the Cardiologist office because I have not heard from about my INR level from the blood draw on Thursday, because I have not heard any thing yet. They called back myloverly wife’s phone. My INR is 2.5 at the half way of the range (2 - 3).
The SKP Ranch Lakewood, NM - Thursday, May 28, 2020
Morning 62 Degrees, Wind NE at 8 to 9 Mph, Humidity 48%, sunny.
I have had to put air in the right front tire a few times recently. It has been turning on the low pressure light. The light turns on below thirty pounds of air pressure. It has been showing twenty-eight pounds of pressure, when I start the car in the morning. So today we went to Discount Tire in Roswell. We got there about ten forty five and they checked the tire wear ant it was ready to be changed. He checked inside and had replacement tires for both front tires. We had those installed in 2015. We had to wait about an hour and a half for them to the job.
Revised
Wile waiting we went to a couple of other stores and got something else to eat then returned about twelve-ten. I had not even turned off the car an a tech was in the parking area looking for our car. He had me drive into an open work bay. we waited right there in the car must be a new procedure because of the virus. we were out in fifteen minutes two new balanced tires.

May 2, 2020
Well it is going to be a process to get a port in my arm. We saw the doctor on April twenty third I had a sonogram of my arm, the first step. Looking for where vanes and arteries are located and there size. After that I went to the hospital for blood work and an EKG.
On April thirtieth the doctor (at Lovelace hospital in Roswell) went into my arm and moved a vane and a artery closer together. The vane needs to grow in size it is at point four center meters an needs to be point six center meters in size for the port.
I go to the doctor in two weeks for a checkup and probably another sonogram.
Saturday, May 9, 2020
Took a ride out to Queen, NM (south west of us about 48 miles on Queen highway off of US 285 about seven miles south of Lakewood) and then out to Dog Canyon National Park. Queen is at 5800+ feet and had a bite to eat. Then back to US 285 and we went south to Carlsbad to get gasoline ($ 1.63 a galion). As we were pulling out of the parking lot saw a sign for Dog canyon and decided we ride down there and see what is going on there (18+ miles more out to there Dog Canyon National Park). This is right on the Texas boarder, CLOSED right at the state line.
Thursday, May 14, 2020
Went to the doctor for a post operation checkup, everything went well only need to exercise my hand more. Next doctor visit is in four weeks. He said it’s looking good. He only checked the incision and for blood flow.

April up date
The SKP Ranch Lakewood, NM - Sunday, April 26, 2020
Morning 63 Degrees, Wind SE at 7 to 8 Mph, Humidity 35%, sunny.
April up date
Stay at home, yes I have been doing that. I only go out to the doctor for INR check (blood thickness) and Dialysis. My lovely wife does all the shopping and visits her friends in Artesia while I in Dialysis. I go three days a week to Dialysis, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. That is going well once a month they pull blood samples checking certain things for how I am doing, good. They also check my weight going in and out each visit with a target weight (water removal).
I went to a doctor in Roswell last week for a vane mapping to have a port installed. This is going to be a procedure not an operation as the vanes in the arm are not as large as my chest like I have now. There is a good sport for this to be done. This will be done on the thirtieth of April. Then time for the vane to grow in size before it can be used.
My energy level has been increasing a little each day the improvement is small each day but the important thing iis improvement is better than not. Walking is still in need of improvement as my balance is a little off. I wobble when I move my head too quickly. Also part of my improvement is my appetite is not close to normal.

The Rest of March
The SKP Ranch Lakewood, NM - Saturday, April 4, 2020
Morning 40 Degrees, Wind E at 6 to 7 Mph, Humidity 74%, sunny.
Well I am doing better, with Dialysis. Energy level is better but my ankles are a little weak and there is some dizziness, especially when I move my head too quickly. Before leaving the hospital I had three visits to Dialysis. And the next day Friday had Dialysis in Artesia and every Monday Wednesday and Friday since. In Artesia the first Friday had to be there two o’clock and hour early to do paper work. Since then about noon. On March 16 we also went to Carlsbad to get our INR (blood thickness) checked. We are trying to maintain 2.5 but we were 3.9. while I was in the hospital they had a hard time controlling that level because the doctors each wanted a different level. The surgeon wanted it 1.0 and other doctors wanted 3.0. so it was important to get to Carlsbad Cardiologist and have the INR checked.
We did that again on the twenty third with an INR of 2.6 (good) and again on the thirtieth (2.5) yea. We next go on April thirteenth. On March twenty sixth we went to Roswell as the surgeon wanted me in for a post operation visit (good).
This port I have on my left chest they now want to put another port on a arm (left or right ?). I have noticed other people at the April 4, 2020 center have ports on their arm. I don’t know another two operations, one to put in the arm port and another one to take out the one on my chest?
My energy level was very one when I went to the Renal Medicine doctor on the sixth of March. I was able to barely stand and walk a few steps. Coming out of the hospital on the twelfth of March the difference was my feet hurt and ankles were weak. Everyday since my energy level has gotten better by a small amount.
So my weight, since December I have lost weight (water removed by Dialysis). While I was in the hospital in El Paso, Texas I lost seven pounds. But then I gained fourteen pounds in February and until I went into the hospital in Roswell. Coming out of the hospital (Eastern New Mexico Medical Center) I had lost fourteen pounds while there mostly water, by Dialysis. Going to Dialysis in Artesia the rest of the month I lost another twenty pounds. That comes to since December until today I lost thirty three pounds.
It is a lot of running around with Dialysis in Artesia and the Cardiologist in Carlsbad and the Renal Medicine in Roswell. Its twenty miles to Dialysis in Artesia and twenty three miles to Carlsbad and sixty miles to the surgeon and the Renal Medicine in Roswell, New Mexico.
We got the bill for our flight to El Paso, they charged $74,999 to medicare. Medicare paid them $4,997 and our insurance paid another $624 dollars. I have been getting bills (co pays) for doctors $ 10 dollars Anesthesia to $ 175 for my cataract surgeon.
Artesia hospital emergency room charged $ 10,639 medicare paid $ 539 and insurance paid $ 67 and I paid a co pay of $ 93 dollars. Roswell Lovelace hospital for cataract surgery charged $ 13,608 and paid $1,403 insurence paid $ 175 and I paid $ 175. There was a repeat for the right eye.
Corona virus, I have not gone into a store since March second actually it was the low energy that kept me out for the first few times but since coming out of Eastern New Mexico Medical Center I am high risk for catching Corona virus. My lovely wife is doing all our shopping, mostly while I in Dialysis. We hace also stopped in Albertsons in Carlsbad but I waited in the car. I also waited in the car on March fourth, Low energy. On the twenty sixth we stopped at the Walmart in Roswell and I stayed in the car also. Actually I have had no contact with other people going into the post office is the only thing I have done other than walking around our motorhome Buster.
The Dialysis center has all patients wear face masks while there, the workers there all are wearing face masks also all the time.
Morning 40 Degrees, Wind E at 6 to 7 Mph, Humidity 74%, sunny.

2020 March update
The SKP Ranch Lakewood, NM - Saturday, March 14, 2020

Afternoon 72 Degrees, Wind SSE at 13 to 17 Mph, Humidity 38%, sunny.
2020 March update
Well last month was mostly going to the doctors office (Cardiologist in Carlsbad) to check my blood thickness level, for the pacemaker. Tests (blood thickness level) International Normalized Ratio (INR) is a blood test that measures the time it takes for blood to clot. Well the level started off low then went too high doing weekly tests. Then I got two weeks the same number, in range, thank goodness. I did this by adjusting the warfarin medication and watching my vitamin K intake (eating only foods low in vitamin K). Vitamin K intake is and the food item to watch and learn what I can eat and what to avoid.
I had a appointment scheduled the last day of February with the Renal (Kidney) doctor that was cancelled because the doctor in Roswell (we were already there), had a family emergency. That visit was rescheduled for week later. That appointment sent me to the hospital in Roswell for the start of dialysis. This requires an implant of a device to do the dialysis (an operation). They tried in the emergency room but is did not work so it was done in the operating room the next day. Latter that day the first dialysis was done for two and one half hours. On Monday and Tuesday three hours of dialysis and Thursday. During this week they wee also trying to keep my INR level stable in range requiring transfusions of iron (two times) and Heparin (four times). The heparin was a slow and the iron was a fast transfusion.
After the dialysis on Thursday there was a scramble of things getting ready for discharge from the hospital but we “got er done”. On our drive home we went past the pharmacy to pick up a subscription. Nice to be home .
Well after going to the Cardiologist in Carlsbad on Wednesday my energy level was low so going to Walmart was out for me. My lovely wife went while stayed in the car as I just did not do the walking around and we were having some “weather”. We did not go anywhere on Thursday and my energy was so low that on Friday I needed to have help to get to the doctors. Bob and Maryland drove us to Roswell, thank you. After I was in the hospital my lovely wife took them to lunch there and they drove her home. While home my lovely wife prepped the cat for our stay in Roswell and packed things to bring with her for us while in the hospital. My lovely wife sleep in the chair with me. We ended up in a semi privet room with another man who was discharged Saturday morning while I was in surgery. Coming back from dialysis on Tuesday they had put another man in the other bed in our room. Them we changed rooms right a way, better. We now had a view of the hospital front and parking lot, privet. dialysis my loverly wife was able to shop in Roswell while I was getting dialysis. Now it’s a matte of schedules, dialysis and doctors.

blood check
The SKP Ranch Lakewood, NM - Wednesday, February 5, 2020
Morning 23 Degrees, Wind NW at 2 to 3 Mph, Humidity 76%, cloudy.
Afternoon 31 Degrees, Wind SSW at 1 to 2 Mph, Humidity 43%, mostly cloudy.
SNOW, started coming yesterday afternoon and into the night. We stayed in and did not go out until today as we needed to go for a coumadin check (blood) at the doctors office in Carlsbad, NM. Stepping out into the snow a couple of inches deep. Everything was covered.
Our local roads were covered with tracks from vehicles already having been down the road. The highway (US 285) down to Carlsbad was in better shape, sanded with some salt, no plowing of snow. There were a few places where vehicles had been off road. A pickup truck was being picked up by a rollback wrecker truck. We just planned more travel time and went slower all the way to Carlsbad. The doctors office had a late opening so we were there in plenty of time, actually early as we waited in the car for forty-five minutes. My number was the same as last week and I will increase the coumadin and re check in a week. The road home seemed a little wet with no snow or ice but there was wheel spray from vehicles passing us.
Morning 23 Degrees, Wind NW at 2 to 3 Mph, Humidity 76%, cloudy.

Morning 35 Degrees, Wind NE at 3 to 5 Mph, Humidity 60%, sunny.
Afternoon 68 Degrees, Wind W at 13 to 25 Mph, Humidity 20%, mostly cloudy.
We went to Roswell today, first time this year. As we have been going to Carlsbad since coming back from El Paso, Texas they have not had some things in stock at the Walmart there in Carlsbad. The Roswell store is bigger and does cary more in stock. Carlsbad seems to also be a little over populated for the stores available. There are extra oil production people come to Carlsbad as it is the largest area for over a hundred miles around outside of Roswell. We were almost home two more miles left to go on US 285 when the gust of wind came as we were going thru a curve in the highway and the car wanted to go in the other lane from the gust. I did catch it in time but really could notice the wind the rest of the way on the highway. Turning off onto Lakewood road we had a tail wind and a few sprinkles of rain before getting home to Buster.

Morning 36 Degrees, Wind NNE at 9 to 13 Mph, Humidity 54%, mostly cloudy.
Afternoon 53 Degrees, Wind NE at 5 to 7 Mph, Humidity 44%, sunny.
We had rain going out the door this morning on our way to the Cardiologist office visit today. It got better going south to Carlsbad, NM. It was crowded in the waiting area today maybe a little slow getting started with the pacemaker checks and other things going on also. I let them put the device on ny left chest (of course it is not there) but my lovely wife squealed on me telling them the pacemaker is on the right side. The pacemaker was read and battery checked, I am good for eleven years. Next check is in six months. For there we went and did some shopping.

The SKP Ranch Lakewood, NM - Thursday, January 16, 2020
Morning 43 Degrees, Wind NNW at 10 to 13 Mph, Humidity 63%, cloudy.
Afternoon 62 Degrees,
Cardiologist office visit today. The longest time doctor’s office visit I have ever had but there was a lot of history to record even tho I filled out the new patent form I was given last night, (home work). It was a more in depth interview than was asked for on the new patent form. Another took my vitals and EKG all before seeing the doctor.
The doctor checked the incisions and where the wire was put into my neck down to my heart and where in implant was placed. I am done with bandages on those sights. And can take regular showers, yea. A visit the doctors office again Monday for a blood thickness check. They use a meter like I have to keep track of my glucose level only it uses a larger amount of blood to do the job.

Carlsbad
The SKP Ranch Lakewood, NM - Wednesday, January 15, 2020
Morning 52 Degrees, Wind WSW at 2 to 4 Mph, Humidity 19%, cloudy.
Afternoon 63 Degrees,
Yesterday I called the Cardiologist office to check on the drug I was ordered to take for five days. The last pill was Sunday with a blood test on Monday at Artesia general Hospital, so what do I do now? When I called the telephone operator in the doctors office of course did now know and left a message with a nurse. The nurse called back a short time later and I gave her my history (long). With that call ended she consulted with the doctor and returned my call. The blood thinner I took for five days were 1 mg and I also had five mg tablets that I was prescribed before El Paso that I was not taking and had the remainder available. It was decided to take ½ of the 5 mg tablets until after I visit the doctor on Thursday. Today we drove to Carlsbad and the doctors office, find actual location and pickup new patent forms and fill out at home (home work before the doctors visit). I also gave them a copy of the hospital’s discharge report (fifty pages, double side printed). Basically I left them some overnight light reading (their home work) history on me.

Morning 33 Degrees, Wind S at calm Mph, Humidity 44%, sunny.
Afternoon 73 Degrees,
Big outing today first ride in the car going to Artesia. First up was the hospital for a blood draw. Register and wait good operator doing the draw found the vane easily. Then on to Walmart forgetting why we wanted to go and remembering after getting home, but we did spend fifty dollars anyway. Also a trip to Dollar Tree for a night lite.
Today was the first time going to Happy Hour (four to five pm) this year. I was able to publicly than the people that heaped us for far this year, actually felt good.
Sunday night I was shaving after a shower and was surprised see how small the bandages on my chest and neck are. To me I cannot see them unless using a mirror.
So that was my first day excursion today. Thursday we are off to Carlsbad, NM to the Cardiologist (not the same Doctor that did the operation) for a post operation visit and continuing care.

Morning 26 Degrees, Wind S at calm Mph, Humidity 84%, sunny.
Wednesday
On the ride home I did sleep some in the car (Chevy four door pick up truck) I do not know how long. Tuesday night going to bed I tried to go to my normal side, but that means I have to step up on the engine box. I tried to go once but lifting my foot hurt so cancel that and slept on my lovely wide’s side of the bed. More Tylenol, going to bed helped for the next day. In the morning on Wednesday, I was walking a little better more Tylenol. My lovely wife had some errands to do so I stayed right here in my computer chair until she came back. We did not want to be the commercial “I’ve fallen and can’t get up”.
My feet were feeling better as the day went on. My lovely wife did not have to fix dinner to night as we were promised dinner by Rob and his lovely wife Taffie. So I have not been out of Buster until today Saturday we were out to dump the holding tank, first time this year, check the batteries water and pit water in the fresh water tank. We always keep Busters fresh water tank full in cast the park water system has a problem.

It took only 35 minutes to fly from Carlsbad to El Paso but it took three and one half hours door to door driving home (there was commuter traffic in El Paso as it was before six pm). Getting home to the SKP RV Park we stopped for a minute at Rob’s rig (who drove me and my lovely wife to Carlsbad hospital) and he got a neighbor (Dave) and met us at Buster (our Motorhome). They were at Buster to help my up the five steps into Buster. My feet still hurt but better than when I first tried to put a foot on the floor in the morning to void, more Tylenol.

El Paso, Texas
University Hospital, El Paso, Texas
Morning 41 Degrees, Wind W at 8 to 10 Mph, Humidity 40%, partly cloudy.
I was in the operating room about 2:00 pm Saturday then to CVICU about 5:pm until Monday.
Saturday night my lovely wife said something to the nurse about the total grams supplied at each meal seemed to be high. The next meals were 30 grams lower. Every tray brought in had a meal summery paper as to what was there and the grams of each item with a total.
It has taken time but my chest is feeling better, from the fall back on December 23,. Today January 9, coughing is without pain. After my fall it was painful to cough, sneeze and some heavy breathing. Since my event on Saturday morning I am not allowed out of quantity. Until then at least I was allowed to stand to void. But all the time in the hospital they wanted me to use a container so they could measure the quantity.
Sunday about 10:20 am the temporary pacemaker kicked in at 50 hart rate I did not even notice. Again the Cardiologist was able to see the event as I am wearing the monitor. Nothing else after that. It was per arranged to have my daughter Cindy talk to the Cardiologist. It did not go well as my daughter was not happy with him. She requested a certain pacemaker, and placement, as I am left hand dominate. After he left the room Cindy told me not to sign any paper to operate until after an EP consult, yes. My daughter even said the specialist type of Cardiologist.

New Years Eve
Well what did you do for New Years Eve, anything exciting?
Well was working on a cabinet to use at the back end of the slide out. We were using a fold up TV tray table with a larger top storing things. Going to make a couple of cuts on a couple of pieces of wood for the cabinet. Going into the wood shop I tripped over an electrical cord charging a golf cart (batteries). I fell forward going to my knees and into to the table saw hurting my chest. That was on the twenty-third of December.
On the twenty-sixth I had a fainting while setting in my chair at the computer. This happened again on the thirtieth but I went to the floor this time. On the thirty-first I was at the stove melting a grill cheese sandwich and went down. Something came over me an wake up with my wife patting (all three times) my chest. It also feels like she is interrupting a dream. Also I felt tired and wanted a nap.
I drove to Artesia Hospital on the thirty-first to get checked out. My lovely wife and I were there about three hours.
I wanted to leave as there was not Cardiologist Doctor to Treat me there. We were given a script to fill at Walmart Pharmacy and needed to be there before six and it is five pm now on New Years Eve. O had another fainting while riding in the car and my lovely wife driving on the way to get the prescription (same feeling & conditions).
We went to Artesia hospital but I did not go in. We ended up going back and getting the prescription and riding home. Home a short while I went to raise the thermostat in the hallway and check the temperature setting felling cool in here and had another fainting. My lovely wife called an ambulance. She helped me up and I went to sit in the recliner chair.
The fire department EMT came I was sitting in the recliner chair. They put a monitor on me nothing “jumped” out at them, just a 75 year old man. They could only transport to Artesia Hospital, not tonight. They said I could go by car to Carlsbad Hospital emergency that’s what we did. Rob one of our neighbors in the park drove me and my lovely wife there.
Carlsbad hospital ran some tests and the house doctor transferred me to University Hospital in El Paso, Texas. Ambulance ride to the airport, 35 minute flight to El Paso, Texas, Ambulance ride to University Hospital. We arrived about one thirty am and spent nineteen hours there (New Years) before going to a room upstairs. Wearing a monitor every time they stick on my chest about five electrodes to measure the hart and lungs. Every department or hospital wants their stickers the other are pulled off and new ones are used. Everybody wants to stick your vanes to draw blood. Cuff your arm and check blood pressure and glucose.
Food service was latter using Styrofoam container and tray in the ER compared to being up in a room using plates and (hot food) covers.
Monitor, here at the room I have a battery operated unit with 5 pick ups, leads connected to me with stick on patches. That is where the doctor got the traces. Possible to move around more even a pocket designed to hold the monitor transmitter in the gown.
About 9:10 am, after breakfast and sitting on the side of the bed, I fainted, scared everyone. I am on a cardiologist monitor. Vitals also taken. Vitals, coming in the room on regular routine, blood pressure cuff, temperature, oxygen and blood glucose. A short time later the house Cardiologist came into the room with three pages print out of the event, now we know a diagnosis. When there is room (Available) in CVICU they will put me on a portable pacemaker. In a neck vane they inserted wires down to my heart and connected to the pacemaker. (Saturday)
