Atascosa RV Park - Pleasanton, Texas 32 degrees and cloudy to 34 degrees and mostly cloudy.
“Polar Plunge” again “Winter weather” I have had enough honker down. On the north side, we are on the south east side, there was snow and sleet show.

Many of you know that Texas has many interstate road intersections with the big flyovers to route traffic in different directions. St some of these intersections or better stated exits, there are many levels of traffic flying in different directions. Well enter winter weather and freezing rain they have to close these down as the yellow signs before bridges say bridge may freeze before roadway. Well these flyovers are just large bridges, there is not enough time and equipment the salt and sand them for traffic in Texas. Them I here of this for the first time;

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Graupel also called soft hail or snow pellets, refers to precipitation that forms when supercooled droplets of water are collected and freeze on a falling snowflake, forming a 2–5 mm (0.079–0.197 in) ball of rime. Strictly speaking, graupel is not the same as hail or ice pellets.

While graupel is sometimes referred to as small hail, the World Meteorological Organization defines small hail as snow pellets encapsulated by ice, a precipitation halfway between graupel and hail.

We had that here in the San Antonio area, interstate ramps also there were closed until noon today because of the icing and not enough salt to spread.
