The other gate guards got their notice of gate closing on Thursday and they will leave Friday. (They are waiting for a package.) Today I went into Big Spring to get some groceries and a prescription I transferred from a Walmart in Kenedy, Texas. There was some confusion and I needed the insurance card, then the computer went down. Our gate traffic is very low but they still keep coming. There is flow back shift change and liquids removal there is always someone else during the regular week. On the weekend the “someone else” never comes. These days with the slowdown in the oil well drilling and completion business weekend work is minimum at best.

My trip into town today is of note as Sunday there was “weather” late afternoon and evening. I think we missed the big blow. Two and a half miles east of Buster is where the weather went thru damaging power poles and wires, about a mile and a half wide. Buster was hit with “rocks” ice and rain nothing big enough to do any damage, the sound of that hitting Buster’s roof was not any fun to lessen to. The wind was enough to have us bring in the table slide out (Busters largest) as I thought the wind would rock us over. It was after ten that night before things settled down. That storm front moved from the northwest to south southeast. Monday’s activity was not as bad or as close to Buster, some more rain and ice.

The work over rig is gone and we just have a light work load of vehicle traffic.

During the day an electric company came in and dug a trench along side Buster to provide electric power to the well site. The trenching machine woke my wife but she was able to get back to sleep.

The Fracing is finished and some equipment moved out today. Just one sand truck came ing during the morning. Compared to south Texas these are mini Frac’s here in west Texas.

Afternoon 86 Degrees, Wind SE 6 & gusting to 12 Mph, Humidity 18%, sunny.

I love the humidity here in West Texas, low. A quite day for us today the water company was in to pickup their water main that was used during the frac. And the Frac company brought in a crew to drive more Frac equipment trucks out to their company yard. Otherwise it was a slow day and there will be more of these type days. Late this afternoon the work over rig was brought in and parked on site for the night.

Morning 51 Degrees, Wind NE 15 & gusting to 19 Mph, Humidity 60%, overcast morning.
Afternoon 62 Degrees, Wind NNW 2 & gusting to 13 Mph, Humidity 63%, overcast.

The day started with a nice sunrise in the east but there were clouds filling the western sky. It was a good day to start a new month with just one vehicle coming in to drop a trailer with material on it. Otherwise a good day to stay inside. Altogether a slow weekend for us here at the gate.

Busters Gate - garden City Texas - Monday, May 2, 2016
Morning 56 Degrees, Wind NNE 7 & gusting to 10 Mph, Humidity 74%, overcast.
Afternoon 72 Degrees, Wind NNE 5 & gusting to 7 Mph, Humidity 31%, sunny.

Before sunrise today there was a rain shower, a wetting rain but not a measurable rain.
The crew was in early today finishing the setup preparation for the Frac operation. Sand trucks came latter in the day to replenish the equipment. Nothing other than that Frac operation started here today. The Frac’s being preformed out here in West Texas are done different, not as many “stages” less sand and a smaller work crew.
