Tampa Fla - Happy Traveler RV Park Sept 25 - 27

Jacksonville, Florida - N Fla RV Repair - Friday, September 25, 2015
Morning 68 Degrees, Wind variable 1 mph humidity 87%, Overcast.

Bonnie and I got up and going early and Buster moved to a position to connect Tan Jan to the tow bar and moving down the road at a quarter to nine this morning. We only did the things to travel and planned to stop for breakfast on the way. Buster traveled Interstate ten west to US 301 south a trip of about thirty miles. I pulled into a truck top to park only there were no pull thru spaces on we went, but wait there is another truck stop next door, try and found pull thru parking spot and Waffle house there also, we need coffee.

Tampa Fla - Happy Traveler RV Park
Afternoon 85 Degrees, Wind NNW 4 and gusting to 9 Mph, Humidity 73%, mostly cloudy.  Buster continued south on US 301 and we changed to Interstate seventy five south. All of our trip partly cloudy and no rain thankful for that.  I stopped in Dade City giving Buster a drink of diesel fuel ($2.429) not a cheep as South Carolina but the Florida fuel tax means no income tax. Construction on Interstate Seventy-five below the connection to the Florida Turnpike all the way to SR 54 above Tampa they are widening to six lanes. Just took it easy with Buster.

Soap dispenser tied down and working correctly.

Tampa Fla - Happy Traveler RV Park - Saturday, September 26, 2015
Morning 72 Degrees, Wind variable calm, Humidity 100%, Overcast.
Afternoon 93 Degrees, Wind variable calm, Humidity 98%, partly cloudy and rain later.

I was out early to get some parts at Lazy Days RV, a new inlet louvered cover for the rear air conditioner and filter material and a sprayer for the toilet. Still looking for a water valve for the shower hose. Then over to Home depot looking for a piece of flex hose for the kitchen soap dispenser. Going to N Fla RV Repair and the speed bump. I now have the soap dispenser tied down and working correctly.

Tampa Fla - Happy Traveler RV Park - Sunday, September 27, 2015
Morning 75 Degrees, wind variable & calm, Humidity 98%, partly cloudy.
Afternoon 90 Degrees, Wind variable & gusting to 3 Mph, Humidity 94%, mostly cloudy and rain later.
Bonnie and I went over to my sister Alice’s house for the afternoon and a wonderful dinner. Two of her daughters were there also. Otherwise a slow day reading the paper and football on the television.

Jacksonville, Florida - Thursday, Sept 24,

Jacksonville, Florida -  Thursday, September 24, 2015
Morning 68 Degrees, Wind NE 2 Mph, Humidity 93%, Overcast.
Afternoon 79 Degrees, Wind  & gusting to  Mph, Humidity 94%, mostly cloudy and rain later.

Parts delivery comes late or after lunch time. First they got the water leak fixed, no waiting on parts for that job. Bonnie and I went out for breakfast then hung around Buster. Bonnie actually went back to bed she was feeling so bad. I ended up napping in the chair while watching the television. Then the parts came, as it turned out without the wiring diagram. More communication with the parts supply and manufacturer and e-mail for that. On the old air conditioner, where the air goes in to be cooled there was a box about five inches square and on the new unit that equipment is now installed up in inside the unit thus different connections from the unit to Buster’s wiring.

They came in and disconnected everything inside and actually pushed the air conditioner up and off the opening some. The heavy lifting was all outside removing the old unit and installing the new unit. Inside work securing the unit in place and connecting the wires. Now the fun, no power at the thermostat, this took some troubleshooting then realizing there was no ground for the thermostat circuit.
Buster Parked for air conditioner work

Air conditioner operation is good, air flow is better and colder. There is less noise from the operation but you still hear it more than the portable air conditioner we use on the floor.
This is the box that was removed from the air inlet area

We still have issues with the lights, turn signals are not working and the brake lights are working four way flashers are working. To morrow we travel to Tampa.

Jacksonville, Florida -N Fla RV - Sept 23,

Jacksonville, Florida - Pecan Park RV Park - Wednesday, September 23, 2015
Morning 71 Degrees, Wind NNE 2 & gusting to 4 Mph, Humidity 88%, cloudy.
Afternoon 79 Degrees, Wind NE 5 Mph, Humidity 45%, mostly cloudy and rain later.

I moved Buster back to N Florida RV repair for the air conditioner installation. Bonnie followed me in Tan Jan. Pecan RV park is only one exit south on the Interstate ninety-five not worth the effort to put the car on the tow bar. We then went for a bite of lunch and hang out for a while so they could do their work. Bonnie and I are both under the weather with allergies and sinus congestion, basically not feeling up to doing anything. When we arrived back from a distance it looked like the work was not done and on checking with them there was a electrical connector kit that was not shipped with the unit. So we have another day delay.

Last night there was a lot of rain after five and Buster now has a small leak that I will have to get fixed also. Now it seams like it is one thing happening on top of another thing.

Jacksonville, Florida - Pecan Park RV Park - Sept 19 - 22

Jacksonville, Florida - Pecan Park RV Park - Saturday, September 19, 2015
Morning 74 Degrees, Wind NW 3 Mph, Humidity 95%, mostly sunny, finally.
Afternoon 89 Degrees, Wind NE 3 Mph, Humidity 55%, partly sunny.

I do not know what got me but we did not bring enough HEB 24 hour allergy medication east with us and I kept one bottle in reserve until today. Within and hour of taking one there I had some relief. I had been taking a 12 hour allergy medication but coming here Wednesday and yesterday and this morning I have been feeling lousy. Relief continued slowly getting better all day and I went to bed early.

Sunday Monday Tuesday

A little improvement every day but not very much, just going thru the motions of everyday life. Congestion and the rainy weather is making for a big slowdown in our life. Never did feel up to or remember to take a picture of our site here. The picture I will attach is from last year.

Jacksonville, Florida - Pecan Park RV Park - Sept 18

Jacksonville, Florida - Pecan Park RV Park - Friday, September 18, 2015
Morning 73 Degrees, Wind N 1& gusting to 4 Mph, Humidity 99%, overcast.
Afternoon 78 Degrees, Wind  & gusting to  Mph, Humidity 45%, rain showers.

Dish soap container strapped in place

Rainy waiting day and time to strap in the dish soap bottle. I had to use areas that had enough heavy wood to take the weight of the liquid, driving in screws to secure the bungee strap. I had made sure the bottle was full before we left North Carolina. I had a partially empty bottle that I filled this container and was able to throw away an now empty bottle that was in the storage compartment, bad move. Not feeling well today we were caught out in a rain shower yesterday, there have been showers off and on since getting into Georgia. Some showers have been very heavy. Now I am trying to dry up my nose that keeps running.

Jacksonville, Florida - North Florida RV Repair - Sept 17

Jacksonville, Florida - North Florida RV Repair - Thursday, September 17, 2015
Morning 51 Degrees, Wind  & gusting to  Mph, Humidity 95%, cloudy-rain.
Afternoon 84 Degrees, Wind variable 1 Mph, Humidity 100%, rain.

More happened yesterday, driving south thru Georgia we had rain during the last third of that drive very heavy at times.  There was some water intrusion at the left slide out. I have the antenna wire coming inside thru that seal. Needless to say that I did not “dress” the wire as we closed the slide out resulting in water coming in along the wire. Or I did not make a “drip loop”. Coming into the North Florida RV Repair driveway (industrial complex) there was a speed bump and it is angled where wheels on each side roll over one after the other, well I took it too fast and created a big cleanup for Bonnie and I.
After using Buster for a while a soap dispenser by the kitchen sink, the container plastic broke. Well finally this summer I replaced that and the replacement had a tube to use where you place the container on the floor of the cabinet below, well I did not “secure that in the compartment. Resulting in dish soap all over the cabinet floor and the tile floor in the kitchen area from that speed bump. A lot of work to clean that up the spilled dish soap.

Late morning we got all the bad news, there were or more chasses relays and engine controls in the power invertor compartment that I did not know were there, learned more about Buster. In there is a brake relay they removed to turn off the brake lights. But when the relay was reinstalled and brakes applied again the brake lights stay on.  When the left turn signal is set the rear camera and display come on (key off) four-way flashers come on but do not flash. I went to remove the relay again (to turn off the brake lights) and tried applying the brake checking the lights, worked properly. Four-way flashers work left turn signal works (camera does not come on with the turn signals). Everything is working normal, but the relay is removed?? Buster has a electric power crossing wires somewhere. Front air conditioner is not working well, low cooling and the refrigerant is low (closed system) resulting in the compressor shutting off while the blower continues to run. I have decided to replace the unit. The problem is it will be shipped here from Indiana in three to five days. We moved Buster to Pecan Park RV Park to await delivery then installation next week.

Holly Springs, NC - Busters Place - Sept 14 - 16

Holly Springs, NC - Busters Place - Monday, September 14, 2015
Morning 52 Degrees, Wind variable& gusting to 1 Mph, Humidity 87%, partly sunny.
Afternoon 76 Degrees, Wind NE 3 & gusting to 7 Mph, Humidity 38%, mostly sunny.

Packing Tan Jan and Buster up and running around with last minutes things to do made for a busy day. I ran Busters engine for a few minutes to bring up air pressure for brakes and suspension but later I noticed the brake lights on. Tried to figure it out but came up empty, so I removed the bulbs to not run power all night. Moe tomorrow when I find out something.

Holly Springs, NC - Busters Place - Tuesday, September 15, 2015
Morning 51 Degrees, Wind  variable 1 Mph, Humidity 96%, partly sunny.

Bonnie and I did not leave as early as expected, 9:50 am, traveling local roads to I 95 and got headed south.
Saint George, South Carolina - Comfort Inn RV park next to I 95
Afternoon 81 Degrees, Wind variable 1 Mph, Humidity 57%, mostly sunny.  Total trip today was two hundred seventeen miles mostly on the big road. Traffic was lighter than last summer (August 2014) but Buster just traveled at his own pace under the speed limit. The brake lights were on all the time. I made an appointment in Jacksonville for troubleshooting and repair. I took them out again tonight while parked. I called ahead to the repair garage we used last year when we had a problem with Busters air conditioners.

Saint George, South Carolina - Comfort Inn RV park Wednesday, September 16, 2015
Morning 51 Degrees, Wind  & gusting to  Mph, Humidity 95%, cloudy.

Before leaving Saint George Buster took a drink of diesel fuel ($2.209) then on to the big road, Interstate ninety-five going south. Two hundred twenty miles to Jacksonville.
I explained the problem with the lights and explained what the front air conditioner is doing when running. We left to get a bite to eat and let them work coming back at closing time. They were able to get them off without disconnecting the bulbs but it is not fixed.

 Cooler after yesterdays rain
Waiting around for the field, the earlier game was ending late
Bonnie and I are done with softball tournaments for this year and this weekend was not like the summer, cool and there was rain on Saturday. Sunday we went to Knightdale for Zane’s baseball no rain but cooler. The teams were not up to par and had losing records for the weekend. I had ordered umbrellas that will attach to our chairs but they did not arrive (ordered too late to use this weekend) but we did not need them for the sun and the rain we got was too much for Bonnie and I on Saturday to sit it out. We left early as we were cold and wet.
Ariana at bat early in the second game, just before the rain
Now it is all about getting Buster set for travel, stuff picked up compartments packed and ready to roll. We have had a great time visiting here again this year. Buster will roll south to Florida on Tuesday with stops in South Carolina and Georgia.

Holly Springs, NC - Busters Place - Aug 26 - Sept 5

Holly Springs, NC - Busters Place - Aug 26 - Sept 5
I have been keeping busy with little projects of things I want done before leaving here. It has warmed to the high eighties and inti the low nineties so there iam inside Buster in the afternoon keeping cool. Then after cooling I am outside cleaning up the mess I made during the morning.

I got the cabinet back together under the sink, up off my knees, up and down and the weight on the knee I am happy that is done. I had material left over from the blocking the foot well closure I made a work shelf for when we are working the gate again. Basically place to put the clipboards when we are inside, on the right side of the dashboard. There is no flat area to place anything there and I also review the log pages to close each line item.
Ariana Playing third base

This past weekend was spent in Burlington softball field as Ariana played with the 16U team. The tournament was the first for this group of girls playing together as a team. They finished second single elimination tournament, they won the winners bracket but lost to the “winner” of the losers bracket. Of course Monday was a recovery day for Bonnie and I, Saturday was a longer day than Sunday but it is tiring, and we are not playing.
