We tried to stay cool today so staying inside was the best plan and going out to have dinner, Mexican in Fuquay-Varina with Christine, John, Ariana and Zane. After dinner it was another round of pool for the kids and then another round of Mexican train for all of us. No pictures as the camera was safe in Buster .

Thus we stayed close to Buster today doing chores and resting up from the weekend

Next game at one ten, enough time to get Bonnie back at Buster. Ariana’s 10 U softball team lost this game going into the losers bracket with the next game at four o'clock. But there was a thunderstorm that delayed the game following, the four o'clock game started latter.
Coach Bill G. with first place trophy
The team won that game and played again the team they lost to at one ten. Ariana’s team (Fuquay Bombs) beat them this game then a tie breaker game played that Ariana’s team won thus winning the weekend tournament awarded team and individual trophy’s for first place.

It has been fun watching the girls grow in the sport and friendships made with others on their team and other teams.

Ariana (#11) batting
Saturday, July 23, 2011
Dickens RV Park Moncure, NC 73 degrees partly sunny, to 104 degrees and partly sunny. Ariana (10) our granddaughter has a softball tournament in Angier, NC and for George and Bonnie driving Silver Sally about thirty minutes from Moncure. It will be a hot one today.

I left the camera in Silver Sally for the first game just not thinking and it was a long walk back to the car. The second time we got Sally parked closer to the field and I remembered the camera. (To enlarge pictures; Click on picture to enlarge, click return button (<) on your browser to return to post).

Ariana coming off third base, and scored
What a day the first game was at 9:45 AM and the second game was at 7 PM and started a half hour late. The girls started slow in the first game and the format is timed at seventy minutes so they tided at four runs. We went home and relaxed kept cool and returned for the second game refreshed. The second game is also a timed game at seventy five minutes, finish the inning, Ariana's team were the visitors this game. If the home team is behind, they complete their half of the inning batting.

After spending some time at Buster George & Bonnie went to Christine's for a cookout dinner that we had inside, "too hot outside". There was a shower on our way to Christine’s and sprinkles at the game, they won with good defense and some good hitting the ball fourteen to zero.

Back at Buster there was a good thunder shower as our outside rug was blown around and the awning tie down was on the ground.

We went anyway as it was only a three minute shower with the darkened sky clearing after the shower.

Up and out early for a softball game at 8 o'clock today, Ariana’s team won that one with the next game at twelve forty. On the way back to Buster we stopped in Smithfield on the way back to Buster for dinner.

Camp area taken from field # 2
Sunday’s camp or lunch is not a big deal as they are in a loose go home schedule and like the second game today "if they won" they retain the field playing the next game right after (a short break in between games) or back to back.

Dickens RV Park Moncure, NC 79 degrees partly sunny, to 97 degrees and partly sunny.

Windy over night last night with the large awning snapping now and again during the night and I not wanting to get dressed and go out release the tie down and roll the awning in some.

Ariana (9 & 10) and Zane (6 and under) had swimming meet at the Apex pool we arrived an hour early five o’clock and parking was at a premium. The meet starts at six o’clock, I stopped to unload the canopy chairs and cooler then going to find a spot to put Silver Sally was right ahead of me on the left I had started looking further away first.
Zane and John at the starting block
Zane at the finnish rope with "helper"
Zane only swims fifteen meters, there is a rope stretched across the pool that the six and under swim to. There are "helpers" in the pool for their age group also. 7 - 8 and 9-10 swim the pool one lap twenty five meters.

No thunder storm, Hurray. We went to Apex this evening for dinner.

Sunday, July 10, 2011
Dickens RV Park Moncure, NC 73 degrees partly sunny, to 98 degrees and mostly sunny.
Second day there was no rain. Bonnie and I went to Fuquay as Ariana has softball practice this afternoon at South Park. Christine and John went back home to catch up on a weeks worth of chores not done while on vacation. George and Bonnie took Ariana home and on the way we brought pizza home for dinner. I have been working on trip plans for South Dakota and Wyoming as we are to be in Piedmont, SD on the twentieth of August. Then in Gillette, WY on August 28.

Monday, July 11, 2011
Dickens RV Park Moncure, NC 70 degrees partly sunny, to 98 degrees and partly sunny.

George and Bonnie went to our daughter Cindy's for dinner today. Cindy is a nurse in the cardiac care section of Rex Hospital here in Raleigh, NC working the over night shift.

George worked on travel plans for our travels west in August today. For me it is all about where we will stop each night and how far Buster travels each day trying to keep the miles to two hundred plus or minus fifty, or three to five hours of driving. That is about our maximum travel day with Buster. Also calculating Busters drinking location (purchasing diesel fuel).

Friday, July 1, 2011 thru Friday, July 8, 2011
Friday,
Dickens RV Park Moncure, NC 61 degrees mostly sunny, to 90 degrees and partly sunny.
We went to Apex, NC for some shopping today.

Saturday, July 2,
Dickens RV Park Moncure, NC 61 degrees mostly sunny, to 90 degrees and partly sunny. We are on vacation (staycation) for the week as Christine and the family are going to Jamestown, New York where John's parents live. George and Bonnie are laying low checking that the garden does not burn up with out water.

Sunday, July 3,
Dickens RV Park Moncure, NC 66 degrees mostly sunny, to 90 degrees and partly sunny.
Quite day today.

Monday, July 4,
Dickens RV Park Moncure, NC 72 degrees mostly sunny, to 90 degrees and partly sunny. After seven tonight a storm rolled in from the north wind and light rain for a bout an hour. Did not disrupt the Television signal.
We went to Christine and Johns' house to water the garden and use the pool.

Tuesday, July 5,
Dickens RV Park Moncure, NC 72 degrees mostly sunny, to 90 degrees and partly sunny. Thunder storm while we were in Apex shopping there are small puddles back at Buster in the campground.

Wednesday, July 6,
Dickens RV Park Moncure, NC 72 degrees mostly cloudy, to 90 degrees and partly sunny. There was a big thunder storm today wind and rain enough to fill the ditch behind Buster. Lost television signal for a while, just watched a recorded program. Went to check on the pool and see how much rain there for the garden yesterday (1.1 inches).

Thursday, July 7,
Dickens RV Park Moncure, NC 72 degrees mostly sunny, to 90 degrees and partly sunny. Afternoon thunder storm, 2.1 inches of rain yesterday.

Friday, July 8,
Dickens RV Park Moncure, NC 72 degrees mostly sunny, to 92 degrees and partly sunny. Tried to rain today but just sprinkles.

Merry has found a new hiding place from the rain and thunder. In our house in Florida we would fine Merry the cat under a bed when there was a storm. In Buster there are not that many places to hide from the noisy rain and thunder claps. The latest is on the printer shelf. Merry has found that with the computer shelf out there is room to get into the computer desk and rest on the printer shelf.
