Atascosa RV Park - Pleasanton, Texas Jan 24 - 28

Friday, January 24, 2014
Atascosa RV Park - Pleasanton, Texas 27 degrees and cloudy to 41 degrees and cloudy.
We did see some sunshine late in the afternoon but it was a slow to warm up today, did I say honker down and keep warm.

Saturday, January 25, 2014
Atascosa RV Park - Pleasanton, Texas 27 degrees and sunny to 66 degrees and mostly sunny.

A much nicer day for going out for a ride around San Antonio and up the northeast side. Much nicer day to be out and about.

Sunday, January 26, 2014
Atascosa RV Park - Pleasanton, Texas 34 degrees and sunny to 70 degrees and mostly sunny.

Another nice day for a ride before the weather turns colder again.

Monday, January 27, 2014
Atascosa RV Park - Pleasanton, Texas 45 degrees and sunny and windy to 54 degrees and mostly cloudy with the wind laying down later in the afternoon. This honkering down every three day is getting old. I know it is better then many other places in the country. At least the last one there was no freezing rain.

Tuesday, January 28, 2014
Atascosa RV Park - Pleasanton, Texas 33 degrees and sunny to 35 degrees and mostly cloudy. Another honker down and keep warm day although we went out for propane gas bottle refill in Pleasanton, TX. Using the twenty pound bottle extends the time between fulls of the internal propane bottle in Buster. That was the only reason to be out in the cold weather.

Atascosa RV Park - Pleasanton, Texas Jan 23

Thursday, January 23, 2014
Atascosa RV Park - Pleasanton, Texas 52 degrees and cloudy to 56 degrees and cloudy.
The high was before two o’clock and was below forty-four before three o’clock with a steady north wind of twenty and gusts to thirty MPH.

I went out in the afternoon and winterized Busters hoses filling the water tank, disconnecting and emptying the drain hose and disconnecting closing the water compartment and turning on the small heater in there. There could be freezing rain tonight a day to just honker down. The best is we do not have to answer a driveway alarm for trucks coming or going tonight.

Well the rain came and there was freezing, I had went to bed and was asleep when I had the C-pap machine turnoff. I got up and went to find out what happened. The electric had gone off earlier and the c-pap was running off the house batteries, and the big television, dish, box, computer and four electric heaters. Needless to say the batteries were worn down quickly. This was only after eleven at night. No battery left to start the generator. I had started the gas brick heater in the late afternoon that uses no electric. I connected the car to the house batteries and ran the car at idle so there would be power for the gas furnace blower to operate.  About three thirty the power came back on to stay and after four I turned off the car and went back to bed. There were a lot of icy bridges and flyovers in the San Antonio area this morning (Friday). When I went out there was ice all over the car and Buster the steps and the ground frozen rain.

Atascosa RV Park - Pleasanton, Texas 53 degrees and sunny to 81 degrees and sunny.
Just a beautiful day low wind and humidity.

Tuesday, January 21, 2014
Atascosa RV Park - Pleasanton, Texas 53 degrees and sunny to 67 degrees and sunny.
Bonnie and I can notice the weather cooling and in the northeast there is the S*** word falling..

I started gathering paper for doing federal tax return a lot to go thru this year.

Wednesday, January 22, 2014
Atascosa RV Park - Pleasanton, Texas 29 degrees and sunny to 74 degrees and sunny.
Cool morning but a nice day with good sunshine. The northeast took about a foot of S*** overnight and that is where the Superbowl will be a week from Sunday. Tomorrow is going to be another story cool and turning wet and the colder here in San Antonio.

Friday, January 17, 2014
Atascosa RV Park - Pleasanton, Texas 45 degrees and sunny to 67 degrees and sunny.

Alamo - San Antonio, Texas
Saturday, January 18, 2014
Atascosa RV Park - Pleasanton, Texas 32 degrees and sunny to 74 degrees and sunny.
Bonnie and I went our to breakfast today for the first time-in about a year or two we have done that.

We then drove to the Alamo in San Antonio and we lucky to find parking as there was some volleyball tournament going on in the city of San Antonio. I had Bonnie take my picture by the New York State flag.

Atascosa RV Park - Pleasanton, Texas Jan 14 & 15

Tuesday, January 14, 2014
Atascosa RV Park - Pleasanton, Texas 35 degrees and mostly sunny to 74 degrees and sunny.  Feeling much better today the runny eyes are gone and the sneezing is almost non-issue. This is a one pill per day and took another today.

Today was mostly a rest day or stay out of the pollen. The television weather reported the mountain cedar tree pollen was at thirty-one thousand level today and before we left San Antonio on Friday it was under six thousand and that was before I knew I was allergic to mountain cedar tree pollen.

Wednesday, January 15, 2014
Atascosa RV Park - Pleasanton, Texas 43 degrees and mostly sunny to 64 degrees and sunny.

Today was another good day as I am taking the allergy pill every day probably the rest of the month or until the mountain cedar tree pollen is much lower. I am also trying to stay inside and not be out there inhaling the mountain cedar tree pollen. Buster needs a good cleaning from the drive in the rain on Friday and the dist and dirt we had at the gate.

Austin Lone Star RV Park - Austin, Texas Jan 13

Monday, January 13, 2014
Austin Lone Star RV Park - Austin, Texas 54 degrees and mostly sunny. we took it easy and left Austin in the late morning.

Atascosa RV Park - Pleasanton, Texas 70 degrees and mostly sunny. Cell phone signal is good for both Verizon and AT&T. There are more campers here compared to last June when we parked here after our first gate job. I just need to stay off the grass as there are stickers there.

It was a nice easy drive down interstate thirty-five most of the way, also interstate four-ten and interstate thirty-seven. Ninety-six miles with some on FM 536 and FM 1784 all paved roads inside the park also.

Bonnie and I went into San Antonio for linner (late lunch early dinner) and on the way back stopped at H E B Pharmacy to get something for the mountain cedar tree pollen allergy. Took one right away.

Sunday, January 12, 2014
Austin Lone Star RV Park - Austin, Texas 34 and mostly sunny to 70 degrees mostly sunny.

Today we had a nice visit with our grandson and Carole and Jackie. The pas two days I have been hit with allergies to the mountain cedar tree pollen being released following the cold snap that the had here last week. My nose has been running like a faucet or sneezing like crazy.

Tomorrow we are heading back to the San Antonio area and will camp in the southeast side.

Austin Lone Star RV Park - Austin, Texas Jan 10

Friday, January 10, 2014
Hidden Valley RV Park - Von Ormy, Texas, 65 degrees cloudy with fog misty rain. Bonnie and I packed Buster and brought in the slides connected Tan Jan to the tow-bar
and slowly moved out. A ninety mile trip up interstate thirty-five. Although I took interstate four-ten around the city instead of driving thru the city center.

Austin Lone Star RV Park
Austin Lone Star RV Park - Austin, Texas 73 and clearing to partly cloudy later in the afternoon. We had misty rain all the way with fog or spray from the vehicle traffic off in the distance. There is misty rain while setting up camp here in Austin.

Bonnie

During our drive into the Austin are we passed a Cabela's outdoor and Bonnie wanted to check them out for sales. After setting up at the campground we went back in the car I found a pair of shoes and Bonnie got a sweatshirt.

Hidden Valley RV Park - Von Ormy, Texas Jan 8 & 9

Wednesday, January 8, 2014
Hidden Valley RV Park - Von Ormy, Texas, 42 degrees cloudy to 55 and mostly cloudy.

Today Bonnie and I looked around to get a cabinet (on wheels) to replace our plastic island cabinet we found one at Big Lot’s. after lunch I spent the rest of the day assembling that and Bonnie transferred the contents.

Thursday, January 9, 2014
Hidden Valley RV Park - Von Ormy, Texas, 52 degrees cloudy with fog to 69 and partly sunny later in the afternoon.

Took a long time to burn off the fog today, still some after noon. Bonnie and I had an appointment to tour the Toyota Truck factory and while we were viewing the pre tour video the announced the tour was cancelled because of parts shortage. The weather interrupted deliver of parts from the east and it was decided to shutdown the assembly line.

We will pull out tomorrow headed for Austin and a grandson visit. I will wait for the morning traffic to pass as our route will take Buster thru the center of San Antonio and on up interstate thirty-five.

Hidden Valley RV Park - Von Ormy, Texas, Jan 6 & 7

Monday, January 6, 2014
Happy Birthday Avery
Hidden Valley RV Park - Von Ormy, Texas, 29 degrees partly cloudy to 54 and mostly sunny. I know across the country there is cold and snow, for that reason I am not complaining about our cold windy weather, it could be a lot worse.

Florida State Seminoles game today from Pasadena, California. Bonnie and I are getting out and about the west side of San Antonio and seeing what is here. Last summer we were looking more on the east side of town.

Tuesday, January 7, 2014
Hidden Valley RV Park - Von Ormy, Texas, 21 degrees partly cloudy to 47 and mostly cloudy. We stayed in until it warmed over 35 degrees today.

How bout them “Seminoles” National Champs.  Bonnie and I had a late start going out today as we had the second half of “the game” recording to watch. After that I installed the second battery watering device’s to install. The wind was lower and the temperature did not feel bad. This allows me to add water to the house batteries easier.
Buster has four batteries for the house and last summer I changed the batteries and installed the watering system on the inside batteries. Now I installed the system on the outside set of batteries.

Hidden Valley RV Park Jan 4 & 5

Saturday, January 4, 2014
Hidden Valley RV Park - Von Ormy, Texas, 43 degrees partly cloudy to 71 and mostly sunny.

Bonnie and I went to the Southwest Texas RV show held in the Freeman Coliseum of San Antonio. We found the RV of our creams when we win the lotto. The size of this show is nothing compared to the Tampa super RV show held in the middle of January at the Florida Fair grounds I 4 and US 301. We were there for the 2013 show easy a two day event to completely see everything. Wildcard weekend so plenty of football.

The road into the camp site
Sunday, January 5, 2014
Hidden Valley RV Park - Von Ormy, Texas, 48 degrees partly cloudy to 54 and mostly sunny. There was a north wind all day some wind gusts took the flags out straight making a day to bundle up when going out.

We found an indoor flea market walking around there and nothing stuck to our fingers.
Wildcard weekend so plenty of football for my viewing pleasure.

Hidden Valley RV Park - Von Ormy, Texas, Jan 3

Friday, January 3, 2014
Hidden Valley RV Park - Von Ormy, Texas, 33 degrees mostly sunny to 58 and mostly sunny.

It was a nice day yesterday and a lot of running around Bonnie needed her glasses adjusted then we walked around H E B Plus more than three times the size of Pearsall or Carrizo Springs stores and we only came out with a few things sticking to our hands. Then lunch at Panera Bread as Bonnie wanted to try soup in a bread bowl, I had a sandwich.
Buster parked at Hidden Valley RV Park
We need to reduce our telephone and air card expense as now we have both AT&T and Verizon. Some times I cannot download e-mail to the computer without rebooting the computer and air card (Verizon) in this area. AT&T in this area works great. So I am trying to have the Verizon reduced. Then we had to hose off Tan Jan as the RV park has a dirt road coming in and in the camp area, when we came back from Texas RV Supply in tow behind Buster there is a lot of dust kicked up. Bonnie got another super Walmart fix this was a different store location.

Buster's new steps
We are going to stay here for the week as Carole and Avery are just getting back from their trip to North Carolina. Besides it is a little warmer here in the San Antonio area.

Hidden Valley RV Park - Von Ormy, Texas, Jan 2

Thursday, January 2, 2014
Hidden Valley RV Park - Von Ormy, Texas, 41 degrees partly sunny to 60 and mostly sunny. There was a cold north wind blowing this morning and I had to go disconnect Buster’s water and sewer hose then connect Tab Jan’s tow bar early this morning.

Buster parked in Hidden Valley RV Park
We left the park before eight o’clock this morning headed to Texas RV Supply in northeast San Antonio for the repairs. I had to get Bonnie up early so we would be ready to go as this was her first night sleeping in the bed as she has been napping in the chair up front some over night this past month. (Just to clarify, she did sleep in bed during the day, this was the first "night" in three months to sleep in the bed.)

The repairs took most of the day so we were out and about checking out the retail and other places. We ended up returning to Hidden Valley RV Park at dark for a couple of more days. We put gas in at Buc-ees in New Braunfels, TX, this place is unreal there must be sixty gasoline pumps out front, there are two rows of them..

Wednesday, January 1, 2014
“The Gate” Batesville, Texas 43 degrees and mostly cloudy the last time, as we depart the gate this morning headed to San Antonio for repair on Buster then off to Austin.

Our replacement gate guards arrived a little late as they had trouble closing a slide-out. We departed before noon stopping at H E B for diesel fuel for Buster $3.569 a gallon a good price as we noticed down the road $3.879. Buster only took 27 gallons today, not full the last time.

Hidden Valley RV Park - Von Ormy, Texas, 60 degrees partly sunny. Buster went up FM 117 and FM 1581 then interstate thirty-five with a total trip of seventy-seven miles today from the gate to the RV park. the RV park is in the southwest side of San Antonio. I took Bonnie out to a late lunch-early dinner at LongHorn Steakhouse then let her walk it off in Walmart. We will miss the sunrises and sunsets at the gate but not the dust and mud after a rain.

Tuesday, December 31, 2013
“The Gate” Batesville, Texas 41 degrees and mostly cloudy to 49 degrees and partly sunny. Surprising it is looking like the sun is coming up in the west while it is cloud covered in the east. In the picture there was more sunshine in the west after sunrise compared the the cloudy east
