Our Escapees Chili Chapter #23 (New Mexico) is having a picnic today at Rattlesnake Springs, south of Carlsbad, NM. Ten miles north of the Texas state line is the turn off of US 180 to Rattlesnake Springs, from the ranch it is forty-eight miles. A nice shaded grassy picnic area among older cottonwood trees with restroom facilities.

The Civilian Conservation Corps (1930's) built this cement reservoir for the spring water.

At four o'clock Bonnie and I went to happy hour at the ranch house.
